Stay on topic, zyt. Talk basketball. And attempt to stay on topic as much as possible for the given thread.

This thread....really should be locked. Lowry along with Lebron, Melo, and Bosh, is gone. No sense in talking about "what ifs" here. Just an excuse for posters to get into mud-slinging contests. We've drifted now into looking forward to PGs that may be available. Really should be a separate thread for that discussion.

Geez, Lowry and Tucker for only 18 million combined too? That would of been so sweet.

I hate hearing about how close we were.

It has to be damn hear impossible to turn down a 118 million dollar contract under any circumstances.

If I look at this completely rationally, I can't blame him for taking that much money. Its about his career and post-career livelihood.

Yeah, it's a great decision for him. He will make more money, he won't have to move his family, he will have longer summer vacations. He will be able to put up big numbers and change that somewhat-popular perception that he has declined as a player since Toronto days. He will make more all star games because that's easy to do in the East. He will get his number retired by his team, which might not have happened for him, if he left Miami.

Why should he give up all that to become the no.3 player on a maybe championship team? Not to mention, there's a risk that Houston's trade happy GM might trade him to Sacramento in a couple years.

It's hard to blame him. I would probably make the same choice.

Dwight will probably end up making more money as a result of that move.

For Bosh it would've been real losses. He would go from a tax free state to a tax free state, and this is his last big contract.

Dwight went from a state with the highest tax to a state with no tax. And he's still a young superstar, he's very likely to get another max contract. And he will get it right after NBA's new TV contract, when all salaries go up. Dwight took some risk, but he will probably be a richer man because of it.

    This.

Instead of being praised by the National media for leaving a lot of money on the table for a higher ideal, Howard is persecuted like a pariah. Shame on those clowns at Espn and the like.

Of course ESPN hates the move because it turned the popular Lakers franchise they love to cover so much into an embarrassment of a basketball team. You thought the Rockets got screwed by losing Parsons and getting nothing in return? The Lakers lost DWIGHT and got nothing.

ESPN only cares about ratings and it's bad for ratings when the Lakers are bad and Dwight leaving them is a big reason for that.

The crazy thing is, it isn't out of the realm that would could have had all three plus all our other current assets. Could have agreed with Lowry and then maybe completed him with a S&T with Lin going to the Raptors with the threat we could just trade Lin and sign Lowry outright if they didn't want to play ball. Then still get Ariza with the Asik trade and match Parsons. Have the full mle and bae left for bigs.

Damn would that have been good.

Lowry and Toronto just beat Memphis, who blew out the Rockets.

Meanwhile, Melo and the ****ty Knicks just got creamed by a ****ty Minny team missing 4 starters-- Rubio, Pek, Thad Young and Brewer.

And we told Lowry to wait on Melo's decision. Good job, Morey.

Lowry always gives Conley a ass-kicking.

    Miss him big-time
