Parsons isn't top five. Durant, LeBron, George, Melo and Iggy are all better than him. Then you have guys like Deng, Leonard, Batum and Gay who are arguably better. Chandler is a very good player that is continuing to improve but if you can get Rondo and then swing a deal for a guy like Ariza to play the 3 I think you have to do it.

That's exactly how I felt when we traded franchise and cat for Tracy. I loved those guys but I thought tmac and Yao would have a better chance at winning a chip.

If you think rondo is the final piece you have to do what it takes. Rockets are in win now mode.

That being said, I really like chandler's game. It's tough. Hopefully morey can find a way to get it done without including him.

Rondo is the most ball dominant PG in the league (handles the ball for roughly 55.3% of Boston's possessions).

The Rockets currently look like this for possession (when in the game):

Harden: 27.7% (highest amongst qualified SGs in the NBA)
Howard: 12.4% (5th amongst qualified Cs in the NBA
Parsons: 13.1% (9th amongst qualified SFs in the NBA)
Lin: 29.8% (2nd lowest, or 28th amongst qualified PGs in the NBA)
Beverley: 26.7% (lowest, or 29th amongst qualified PGs in the NBA)
Jones: 10.1% (13th, or about avg amongst qualified PFs in the NBA)

Keep in mind most PGs' numbers are inflated because they bring the ball up the floor. That said, Lin and Beverley are lowest in the NBA in ball possession (with Cole and Chalmers next, as they also play with a ball-dominant wing).

So basically, a player as ball-dominant as Rondo would completely turn our offensive system upside down, and likely cause a ton of tension (and that's not even taking into account his abysmal shooting and efficiency).

You should be banned for saying gay is better. he clearly isnt, cp25 shoots over 50% from the field. Batum and leonard have taken steps back man... Id even take cp25 over Deng...

I love Parsons, but you have to give something to get something, Rondo is a allstar and he isn't free.

Rondo is a double double pts/assist, 5 boards, 2 steals while shooting around 50%. If we can get him for a package of any of lin/asik/parsons we should do it imo.

How exactly do they determine what a possession is?

Personally, I consider Parsons a franchise player in terms of marketability, in terms of being an all-around glue guy, and someone who could be employed by the team in many useful capacities after the playing career has ended.

I could see other GMs making a near-max offer for him. If Hayward wants more than 12m, then Parsons is probably up in a similar range, IMO.

He's a clean-cut white guy (marketable to middle-class whites - if JLin is marketable to Asians at 3% of the population, how much more so CParsons to 66%?),

he's pretty (for the 50% of the population who are female),

he's smart (bodes well for long-term improvement, and for glue guy duties); and as such he fits with any team.

moreover, for the Rockets he's home-grown.

The Rockets should build around Him, business-wise.

I saw what you wrote - but I do not do e-mails, or interviews, or anything of that sort.

The reason I do this is for the fans - the passion they have for their team and for their city. I do not like going to papers or to big reporters with my info. It all has become too much of a business... From page views, to who can get the best advertisers. I believe in Clutch and his team - this is why I bring what I have to this forum. It's all about the love of the game.

Why do you think Woj gets all this info? GM's and teams are so scared that if they don't give it to him first he will slaughter them. When he didn't get the Dwight story first - he went nuts. I like to keep it simple.

I would disagree (*James Harden disguised as Anthony Davis voice*). I believe that Deng, Iggy, Leonard, Batum, and Gay are slightly under our very own CP25 at the very moment.

For all the research you did, I would think you'd realize that the bolded part is the opposite of the truth.
