3 and D guy who can stay out of Harden's way because he's allergic to the paint

Hill, Chalmers, Beverley, that's it for starting 1's

Do NOT want Rondo. Guy has been a psychopath since he entered the NBA. If a team doesn't have the equivalent strong personalities of Doc, KG, PP and Ray Allen to chill him down, forget it. Now that he's older, Rondo looks up to nobody and will be totally uncontrollable once the ink is dry on an extension.

Morey and smart GMs should pass on this overrated stinker.

It's intriguing to us. Indiana would never consider it.

hehe so now we don't need McHale to coach. We will just turn over the offense to Rondo.

Brilliant! We should have done this at the trade deadline.

I fear any deal between Morey and his mentor. That deal we heard for Asik at the deadline was atrocious. It may be Morey's one blind spot.

Also, last time I checked, Rondo still hadn't taught himself to shoot threes. Not saying it can't be done (Jason Kidd Kyle Lowry), just saying that he won't be a great fit offensively until he does.

Parsons isn't making anyone better. Fast break points is his game.

Rondo would make everyone better on this team.

Parsons/Lin/Asik/DMO or Jones + picks and lets go win meaningful games next year.

I would love this trade but if we trade Jones then we have to do something and get a starting PF. Doesn't have to be a scorer but with at least average rebounding and defense. We would also have to be in the market for a backup center and backup small forward. We would have an all star lineup but our bench (Beverley aside) would probably not contribute much.

Man they need to do something whether its Rondo or Melo. I love Bev but hes a backup PG. Harden cannot be the primary ball handler. Bev and Lin just don't have handles or play-making ability. Lin has shown flashes of his play making ability. He needs to work on his crossover skills this offseason.

Can someone sell me on the merits of Rondo over Lowry? Personality issues w/ McHale aside....

All I hear about the rockets is Moreyball.

But then Morey always goes out and gets talent that makes MoreyBall not work.

Out of our starting five and Lin this year, Harden leads 3pt % at a 'scorching' 37.
    Probably worse in the clutch.

If Lin or Parsons or... anyone knocks down a few threes in that fourth quarter, we win easily.

    The solution? A 25% 3pt shooter.

I'd rather have Kyle personally due to the simple fact he can shoot and competes on both ends. Rondo is a special tho. His ball handling, court vision and defense is elite. He sucks at shooting and free throws. His game elevates in the playoffs unlike some of our guys. I'm good with either or. It's in Morey's court but this team is flawed at PG, SG (at times Harden's defense), PF and bench.

Yeah we have fake 3 pt shooters on our team. Garcia, Casspi, Hamilton and some degree DMo. We need some real shooters. I like Canaan and Daniels but if you want to shoot 3's and layups you have to get some real shooters.

    - Rondo has a very nasty side to him. This team has a bunch of nice guys and a guy like Rondo would give this team a nasty edge. You need this in the playoffs.

-Rondo is also very vocal on the court (with his teammates). If he sees something he does not like, he is going to let you know....actually he is going to go ballistic on your ass.

    -Rondo is a better defender

-Rondo is a better floor general. He directs all the traffic on the court.

-Rondo is a better passer. A pass first PG with better court awareness BUT.....

A big reason for that is that Rondo is a terrible shooter.

    Lowry OTOH is a

    - the better shooter. This is not even close. He is more of a SG/PG combo

    - Possibly a better fit with Harden attitude-wise. I am not sure if Harden the diva can take Rondo chewing on his lazy ass the entire game.

    - They both can be headcases at times but Lowery is easier to manage between the two. Rondo can go crazy on you.

    The biggest concern with Rondo?

With Howard and harden on the team expect the other teams to leave Rondo for wide open shots in the game.
