Morey hasn't screwed any of those guys over. Lowry asked to be traded. Morey presented dragic an offer and dragic found a better offer (no bad blood, good business). Asik and Lin's big paydays are because of Daryl Morey.
I would hate to lose CP25 but Rondo is one of the better point guards in the league. I have a hard time seeing DM turning down a chance at Rondo because of CP25. Steep price to pay though.
Thank you. I think his efficiency will get better as he gets more healthy but look at those numbers. And that's on the celtics imagine with us oh lord
I dunno. He's way below 30 percent career. Half the ppl on this board think Lin sucks with his 34 percent (the other half say Bev sucks with his 35 percent). I think we should definitely get him if he looks healthy. Coach to the talent. The talent won't be 3-pointers so that may piss off the "efficiency experts". But then again, I'm in the minority that think a power-running game can get far in the playoffs.
Didn't have almost all the first half of the season and missed training camp. Small sample size is small
I wonder if the trade will turn out to be something like: Boston gets Lin, Asik, Parsons; LA gets Rondo, Green; Houston gets Gasol and Olynyk; throw in a mix of picks, scrubs, trade exceptions to sweeten the deal and make salaries work for all three teams.
lol wut? we had to trade lowry to get harden. we offered goran the 2nd best offer, but he was insistent on having a player option 4th year. how'd he screw over lin? by giving him 24 mil? same for asik? sorry for paying you? i agree it would hurt to trade parsons, esp. considering he helped lure DH here. but morey's "bad blood" with other GMs comes from winning nearly every deal
It's not great if turns out Lin has an untradeable contract which forces the Rockets to part with Parsons instead.
I know it doesn't, I am saying people are afraid parson will be offer a max contract in 2015 and are now trying to trade him. 2015 will have ton of free agent and most likely he get 9-10 mil so I think it possible to keep him and not trade him.
Rondo's statistical sample size is way too small. I'm more concerned about the eye test at this point. We know what he is. He's not going to become the next Ray Allen (or even Bev/Lin) at 3 point shooting. Dang I see he's missed A LOT of games the past 4 years. That scares me.
Why do people assume cause our offensive numbers are good, that we have enough offense or scoring. Here are our offensive options, mind you imagine a locked-in Pacers, Thunder, Spurs, or Heat team against this; 1) Harden-- The foul drawing will come to a somewhat halt in the playoffs 2) Dwight-- Very defendable one on one with Duncan, Hibbert, Perkins. 3) Parsons- If you are asking on Durant, or George/Stephenson, or Kawhi to FOCUS on Parsons like the amped up defensive philosophy will do, he's not going to put up the same numbers or won't at least at this efficient of a level 4) Lin- No, just no. We don't have enough scorers. We need another player that can generate offense.
I would be very unhappy to lose Parsons. I guess Morey would have multiple moves in mind, but damn, Parsons does a lot for this team both on the court and in the locker room. It seems like we would have enough assets to acquire Rondo without giving up Parsons. I've always said that Parsons is a player that pretty much all the other teams would love to have. I just don't know if Rondo is the "star" player that I would want in return for Parsons. I would rather give up first round picks.
If we really want to play inside out the second half of the season and in the playoffs getting rondo makes a big statement to that. Especially with Dwight playing the way he has lately we need to get him the ball harden will always be there for us when we need him to make a big play also .
Here's the trade Houston trades- their lunch money, their future Boston trades- a broken relic of their past.
