What is this depth you speak of? That's the major issue with our squad - lack of depth. Particularly in the big man and 3pt shooting department. Oh, and we don't have a point guard who can take care of the ball. Sure, Asik (in theory) is big man depth. But he flat out doesn't want to be here. If we can move him, and give up a pick or 2, in order to bring back a 'real' PG, then we do it. I doubt bringing in someone like Rondo leads to any bad chemistry, and I also imagine IF we were to do it, Morey would have some backup plan to find some depth so that we could make a run this season (or the Rockets would be hoping that there might be a couple of players who don't get moved who are subsequently bought out and then choose to sign with Houston post deadline)
King drew been bs since he said Berman was his dad or something, if Berman had all that news he'd report it for himself and earn recognition
As much as I want the Rockets to trade Asik, get rid of Garcia, and get out of Lin's contract I will be content if everyone stays and nothing happens tomorrow. I would love to see Lin start playing better, and Asik/Garcia play like tonight every night. I'm sure D-Mo and Asik will be much easier to trade after tonight and possibly Garcia as well since he is still low risk. My prediction is nothing happens tomorrow (maybe a small move) and everyone complains nothing happens. That's the safe bet even with all the Rondo news (which would be crazy if it happens because you know Morey willl make 3-4 deals total if he trades for Rondo).
1) Jones and DMo is pretty good PF depth 2) Howard and Asik is the best C depth in the league 3) No one cares where he wants to be 4) I'm not sure you know how team chemistry works.
Fox Sports Live just suggested: Cavs: Omer Asik Boston: Loul Deng, 1st round pk, 2nd round pk. Houston: Rajon Rondo They also said if it came down to it Houston should trade Parsons for Rondo.
why do some people wan to trade Dmo? Dude has been outplaying Jones lately and Dmo's style of play will fare better than Tjones's in the playoffs.
So are they advocating or just speculating? Certainly not reporting... Doesn't make a lot of sense for Boston. All they care about are picks and prospects.
No clue, I think he showed tonight why the Rockets shouldn't trade him, the Rockets were off to a really slow start till Jones went to the bench for DMo, then they immediately went up 10. We need both young PF's moving forward.
Thats actually not a bad trade for us but ofcourse, it sucks for Boston. One year rental of Deng (though coming off the books is a positive), plus a couple of so so picks for Rondo, they can do better than that.
I don't think anyone wants him to be traded anymore (except maybe DD). He asked to be traded since he wasn't getting enough PT (thanks for being a good influence Asik), and that's where it all stems from. Some posters want to give him what he wants and others still want to keep him. I think he is happy here now since we started playing him.
Love this team, love my city, love the rockets but, in the end the Rockets are going to need defense or at least hope everyone buys into to playing team defense come playoff time. The refs slow the games down and superstars(Paul, Durant) slow the game down in the playoffs. Maybe Rondo or Deng are not the answer but, at some point we are going to need defense.
I'd do Asik and Casspi/Brewer plus a 1st for Deng and Varejao...nothing more because it would probably only be a rental for us unless Deng really liked it here and signed a fair contract
Hey let's hope Rockets and Spurs finish 2 and 3 while OKC and LAC battle it out in the 1 vs. 4 matchup.
