I bet Morey's trump card is that he's ready to take back Dieng to get Butler. No other team is willing to take Dieng to get Butler. Trade 1 Butler for Gordon Nene and a 1st Trade 2 Dieng for Knight Dieng still has 3 years on his deal including this upcoming season. Knight's deal is up in 2. You swallow that pill to get Butler.
I’m pretty sure that illegal and wouldn’t be allowed by the nba. Teams aren’t allowed to do multiple transactions that are clearly connected in value to each other just to bypass trade rules... I believe but I could be wrong.
What's even the point of this? There is absolutely no way he signs here next year, so is it worth it?
Not illegal; someone had asked Bima about the same thing (see screenshots in the tweet) recently... Spoiler
Butler does like Southbeach....and DwWade is a homie, but what if a 2J fit better? And, that Hassan fellow....what happened to your touches in the post? Implosion tightrope...even Dragic wants some shine. Random REM thoughts
Houston is the only team that scares the **** out of GS. Butler wanting to go anywhere else tells me that he doesn't want to win. As much as I would like to have Butler here, we really don't need him. We could roll with what we have and still win it all. Even more so than would with him. As a matter of fact, I'm tired of talking about him. Screw him.
Knight to Miami for JJ // Dragic for Butler? Whiteside wants to shoot threes? Spoiler [Miami Herald - Barry Jackson - Sept 24, 2018] Heat center Hassan Whiteside said the team has permitted him to practice corner threes in workouts in recent weeks and hopes to add that to his game. Whether the team wants him taking those shots is another story entirely. “We’ve been practicing [those shots],” he said. “They’ve been letting me practice [them]. I’ve been working with the coaches. We’ve been getting threes up, corner threes up. I haven’t done that in the last four years I’ve been here. So we’ve been working on it.”
Sorry for treating this like the random trade idea thread but I can't resist Dragic, Knight, Richardson and Mia 1st, two Hou 2nd's to Minny Butler, Teague to Heat J.Johnson, T.Jones to Rockets Then I'd turn around and throw Chriss + a 1st at the Wiz for Oubre. Paul / Jones / Williams Harden / Gordon Ourbe / Ennis / Green Tucker / Anthony / Qi Capela / Johnson / Nene / Hartenstein Now that would be a sick, and truly deep roster.
In recent days, Sacramento has been aggressive in courting Minnesota and several of Butler's trade suitors -- offering to use its space as a landing spot for bloated contracts. The Kings are without their first-round draft pick in 2019, and uniquely positioned to leverage that cap space into minimally a future first-round pick -- and maybe more -- as part of a Butler blockbuster. The Nets, Clippers and Heat all have contracts that they'd love to unload, and a Butler deal could mean that they deliver Sacramento a pick and cash to take on a veteran player. Assistant GM Brandon Williams has informed teams that the Kings aren't adverse to parking contracts that extend into the 2019-20 season, including Dieng. Whatever happens with the Butler deal, the Kings are determined to use that $11 million in cap space and their expiring contracts to gather more assets for the future.
I actually read a lot of Sixers fans being annoyed by Covington's play after he got pay, fwiw...he also play the SF on paper, and that is the spot of Wiggins so, not exactly the best get they can have imo, Gordon (a two way SG) would be better for them, aside the fact that Gordon is a better player than Covington.
Did you just turn Knight (who we got for Ryno) and 2nds into James and Tyler Johnson? That would be some black magic right there.
This has always been our play if we have one. Dieng to Sac for picks. We saved them from the Ryno trade for a moment like this.
