Right. Obviously in no way is Tucker the “problem” defensively. But if he’s not going to provide defensive value as much for whatever reason, then including him in a trade for a guy who can bring back much better offensive value plus as good defensive value seems to make sense. Everything requires some give and take - unless you’re the Warriors. Lose interior defensive versatility but gain wing defensive versatility while getting a great offensive player. EG/Tucker for Jimmy is too much. But to the extent you at least become ok discussing moving Tucker it becomes interesting to see/think about what you can get back.
Let's just do Gordon, Capela, Chriss, and Nene for Winslow, TyusJo or Frank Mason, James Johnson, and Wayne Ellington
And promote Hartenstein or Zhou Qi to starting center, because they're so obviously ready to take that step. Simply brilliant.
Would normally agree to that but even during the preseason, this team has shown major signs of vulnerability especially on the defensive end. Remember, just like in 2015, it’s really hard to dig out of an early bad start to the season, and the West is that much better this year. Training camp is just incredibly important for the defensive end. Coming out of the gate this bad scares me to death. But let’s just see a few more games before we write the team off and suggest something as stupid as trading Capela for garbage. However the red flags are all over the place.
Genius! But wait, what if we can’t get Tyson? Cuz you know, teams don’t have to accommodate us. Oh. But we can get Kostas you say. Yeah cool. He’s definitely capable of outplaying Gobert and Towns.
So the idea would be just to lose every game until the buyout happens and miss the playoffs entirely?
Correct, we still don't want to give up Tucker. Not sure why his value would have dropped... He's missed a few shots around the rim in traffic, but that's always been a challenge for him. Great defense and shooting 50% from behind the arc? Great start IMO.
Winslow is the next superstar in Hollic's eyes, which means he'll never be a superstar let alone make an all star game
How do you know it won’t get it done never mind that it will screw us over next season. You from the future?
Right, because modern NBA centers need to be able to hit 3s to space the floor. At least that's what you keep throwing out there to demonstrate why Capela is a mediocre center. So Tyson's lifetime 0-10 record from 3 will be a huge plus for us. I can't wait to see him guarding Curry and KD on the perimeter when we play the Warriors.
Ok we make the trade, we have Harden, Paul Butler and Capella, everything else is not good, i'm sorry that's not gonna get it done against the Warriors, and if we lose, Butler has no reason to stay.
Sorry to butt into yalls discussion but you condradict yourself in that post with: "Butler has no reason to stay." And "we have Harden, Paul, Butler and Capella."
