Thanks @cyberx. Always read you. I know you're legit. This is what several of us have been saying for a while now. But even this has to be taken with a grain of salt. What we are most likely willing to do is trade Gordon/contracts and one first round pick for a player we covet and added salary that gets Miami out of the tax and keeps Minny out of the tax. For us to give up two picks well hand tho be able to either duck out of the luxury tax or at least get a lot closer to the tax line while simultaneously improving our roster and main rotation.
Tucker is unavailable with Gordon. Let's not confuse that with Tucker is unavailable. I'm sure Morey is working 3 team trades to allow Minny to have PJ without Gordon, though. And that all becomes easier on Oct 31st, when Knight can be packaged. Tucker might be our 3 or 4th most important player, but Butler will be 3rd for damn sure.
If I'm Minnesota I honestly don't even want Tucker that much. What are they gonna do with him? I'd rather unload Dieng or Wiggins than bring-in Tucker, that would be my priority.
@cyberx wasn't wrong. He was simply given bad info, most likely intentionally. And he was recently given new info.
putting a defensive big who doesn't need the ball in his hands, next to Towns is absolutely a great move for them. It's obviously KAT's biggest weakness
Yeah but in a straight up trade with us they’re not unloading Dieng. And don’t believe anyone saying we have a third team to take Dieng. It would take a lot more than our first round pick to take that garbage contract on.
I mean, I said in my earlier post he was given bad info. It doesn’t make it not wrong. He said Pj was included, and he was wrong. I’m not attacking him as a person. But his post was wrong.
Rockets don't have to tell anybody PJ is untouchable if they don't want to. That doesn't mean he's touchable.....much less actually been offered up for Butler. Gimmeabreak man.
How would someone take on Butler and Wiggins contract? that's $45 million this year. three way trade somehow?
People think Tom T is crazy and may not really make a deal. May wait to find a desperate team struggling to give him the house.
Once again...if he's been on the table since Day 1, this deal would already be done, especially if PJ is who they are allegedly demanding to get. The Wolves aren't getting a better offer than Gordon + PJ and whatever else they get.
That's only because Minny won't take just PJ for Butler. But Morey has offered it, or will if this survives until Knight can be packaged. A 33 yr old PJ is not enough for Thibs to trade Butler. You're confusing [PJ + Gordon] with packages of [PJ or Gordon, but not both] btw: we all know your position. You don't have to be so condescending 3 times on every page. Chill out.
This is easily believable. I wouldn't be surprised if Taylor finally yielded here and sent Butler home to start the season. Taylor is tired of players buffaloing him and Thibs may have an inroad back to him if he convinces Taylor to hold out for a better deal after Dec. 15.
I think you're 100% right. If PJ is an absolute necessity for pulling off this deal, I think Morey does it. But even when he's been on the court this preseason the team is so much better. I hope it doesn't come to that...but I do love me some Jimmy Buckets.
