Perhaps Jimmy should go to Minny's camp and start jumping down KAT and Wiggins throats for their lack luster defense. That may push Thibs off his high horse demands.
It's clear Thibs has been negotiating in bad faith for weeks. It's almost as if he knows Minny is his last NBA gig so he said, "F*CK IT, let it all burn to the ground." Truth is the league passed him by years ago. This is just his ego self-sabotaging in an effort to save face and go out on his own ridiculous terms. Nothing more than a big middle finger on his way out the back door.
If Richardson is available i don't see how we can beat their offer, unless we throw in multpile 1st rounders or Miami wants to unload Waiters to the Wolves.
I mean, Cyber, COD have proven to be reliable. Iko has also proven to be reliable, are you talking about them?
Not gonna lie. The thought of Thibs pulling the football away from Riles like Lucy does to Charlie Brown gives me a huge smile.
"Minnesota has been engaged with no serious talks elsewhere on Butler, with teams believing that a Miami deal was inevitable and the Timberwolves' steep asking price often remaining a nonstarter, league sources said." The only team Minny has gone in deep discussions with is Miami. Us being aggresive probaby means Morey is pestering them with countless propositions that are immediately turned down or smth.
So Thibs might be 'winning' for now. Butler might play couple of games. Or get benched/dog house kept.
"The first born of all their kids" is not even worth Butler in a fair trade anyway. Unless Thibs trades himself for Spo.
Here's hoping Riley gets fed up and walks away, Morey has no such pride. He will keep jumping through the hoops to land Jimmy Butler.
It is clear Josh Richardson is on the table. And that is a big step. At this point the stumbling blocks are "who is taking Dion Waiters?" and "who is taking Gorgi Dieng?" And how many picks is it going to take to compensate? Miami has 1 first they can trade I believe, their 2019 pick.
Barry Jackson - Miami Herald (updated) - October 07, 2018 12:11 PM Spoiler The Wolves are believed to be asking for several of the assets the Heat considers most valuable: Josh Richardson, Bam Adebayo, Goran Dragic, Kelly Olynyk, Justise Winslow and a No. 1 pick. Miami had shown willingness to include Richardson after initially balking, according to a source. When the Heat was balking about including Richardson, the Wolves - two weeks ago - asked the Heat for a package include Dragic, Adebayo, Winslow and a first round pick among other pieces from both teams, according to a source. According to Wojnarowski, “Miami had been searching for a third team to re-route a contract, which included conversations on Miami guard Dion Waiters. Incentiving a third team with draft picks became one of the road blocks in Minnesota completing the trade, league sources said.” The Miami Herald has reported all summer that the Heat has shopped Waiters, Hassan Whiteside and Tyler Johnson. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst has reported that Dragic has been offered to Minnesota. Wojnarowski has reported that Minnesota was willing to offer protections on the 2019 first-round draft pick that the Heat would relinquish in a proposal.
This one right here. A clear example how a franchise puts pressure through the press. Note the first sentence : "The Wolves are believed to be asking for several of the assets the Heat considers most valuable: Josh Richardson, Bam Adebayo, Goran Dragic, Kelly Olynyk, Justise Winslow and a No. 1 pick." This is meant to paint how unreasonable and greedy the Wolves are. But it just lists all the plus assets of Miami and just say they want several. Who knows how many are several. Misinformation and manipulative "journalism". But no surprise since the writer has to earn his sources by being the tool of the team.
