While watching the Rockets 44 year tribute video and seeing Mad Max I started thinking of our need for a Enforcer. This is something very important to have in the playoffs. Enforcer: A player quick to fight who defends his teammates against violent members of the other team. Heres a few that have been or could be considered Enforcers that graced the rockets uniform in the past Mario Ellie Vernon "Mad Max" Maxwell Charles Barkley Kevin Willis ANTOINE CARR Charles Oakley Ron Artest I know I am forgeting a few. Maybe we can Think of a few guys out there to trade for that fit that mold.
Brendan Haywood, as in he of the recently signed 6-year, $52M+ contract??? No, thanks. Especially not for Yao Ming's contract. (And if you're not talking about using Yao's contract, please post this in the Random Trade Ideas thread instead. Thanks.)

Brand is a huge negative, but I think it is this type of trade that is going to net us the best combination of players.... If we can change the trade to Brand, Iggy and Hawes and a 1st round swap for Yao, Jeffries and Budinger/Lee then I'd go for it... The sixers would clear a ton of cap space for the price of Hawes and a swap (which isnt that terrible considering our records)... They also get back a young player in Budinger/Lee The only thing Houston really gives up is cap space and Budinger/Lee... But we get back 3 solid contributors... who can help us push toward contending... Hawes/Miller/Hayes Scola/Brand/Patterson Iguodala/Battier/Williams Martin/Lee/Williams Brooks/Lowry With that said if there is anyway to include a 3rd team to take on Brand I would be all for it.... question is who will?
I really don't understand why we have so many bigs. Adelman's system requires passing, shooting, and some speed. We can easily give away Hill, Hayes, Miller, Yao, and just keep Patterson, Scola as our true PF's. We need a C. Thats clear. There isn't one out there that can produce and keep up with the centers of today. I think of Rockets can square a easy trade for Dexter Pittman, that would be a steal. He's motivated to be a stud. He can pass, play great inside game, and i feel he can easily be a big baby/rookie shaq if he gets in shape more. Brooks is walking. he will get 12mil a year from any team on the cusp of the playoffs. PG are needed. SO def. try to include him in a trade. I would easily offer talent for chris Paul, because to me, CP3, Martin, a good Big, Scola, PAtterson, and maybe another player would be a perfect rotation. You need to push the ball, cp3 can do that, LOOK AT HOW HE MADE TYSON CHANDLER LOOK LIKE THREE YEARS AGO! If not, rockets will not be in the conversation for contending until a good 7 years, because the leagues best players are only 26-28, with rose, Durant, howard even younger. You need to get a stud who has experience and can deliver. It has to happen. Rockets have too big of a market to wait until players collapse or retire to become relevant again.
Outgoing: Yao Budinger Hill Battier 1st Round Draft Pick Incoming: Melo Nene Line Up: Brooks/Lowry/Smith Kmart/Lee Melo/T.Will Scola/Patterson Nene/Miller/Hayes
Give up Yao and Jordan Hill to our friends in Sacramento for Dalembert and Whiteside. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeM...tradeId=28xrb2t Rotation: PG - Lowry/Brooks/Smith SG - Martin/Lee SF - Battier/Budinger/Williams PF - Scola/Patterson/Whiteside C - Dalembert/Hayes This trade seems feasible (good relationship with the Kings, they aren't a rival), and beneficial to both teams. Frees up backup minutes for Patterson with Hill out of the way, and it instantly upgrades our interior defense.
Is this too much by giving up Hill too? Whiteside is a player picked from a late first round (or second round?), never see his play.
