I don;t get why he'd favour the knicks over the nets, the nets have a better just about everything, including future.
I think the media is correct but the question is are the words coming out of Carmelo and Lala's mouth true. Would you call his bluff if he have told you behind the scenes that he will only sign an extention with NY for the risk of getting nada?
I could be wrong, but I'm not sure Favors and Melo is going to turn an 12 win team around. It's a long way up from the bottom and there is no question that the Nets were NBA's worst team last year.
Um, the nets changed their roster at pretty much every position. Lopez and Murphy is one of the best front pairs in the nba, adding melo would make them arguably the best front court in the nba, harris is decent and morrow is a servicable sharpshooter. Adding melo if they didnt need to give up too much would give them a real solid starting 5. Right now as it stands their starting 5 only includes probably the best 2 from last year, plus they now have a quality coach.
Chris Broussard: NY still #1 choice. Others in the mix are Nets, Lakers, Rockets, and maybe the Bulls
Probably because it's not so much about calling a bluff but about not wanting to take back any of the crap the Knicks have to offer, even if it means getting a 2016 #1 draft pick - or 2026...when can the Knicks trade a first roudner again!! Easy bluff to call. They'd actually be better off letting Melo walk than take back any of that crap - especially given that there is still the sign-and-trade option, which netted the Cavs/Raptors something, at least.
Yup. Plus we have JR and KMart coming off of the cap this off-season, and (I believe) Chauncey is a team option for next year. That said, the Nugs have gotten some decent offers for Melo. I'm excited about having this over with and seeing what the new team will look like.
