I have been arguing with Morey apologists for a long time. But firing him is totally stupid.

No GM is mistake-free. Morey is no god, like some of his fans think, but he is still one of the best in the business. Like someone said, if Morey was fired, he would be hired by some team before day break.

One of Morey's biggest strengths is that he learns from his mistakes and quickly tries to remedy them.

My only knock on Morey is how he did this season assembling a roster.

Ty was a bad move, at the time you couldn't guess that, but now its obvious.

Why pay KJ? Like he doesnt get no PT, maybe its on McHale or whatever, but it just seemed he did it to have a good asset.

Why draft Dekker and Harrell? Two players I feel are redundant in a way and doesnt help this team.(We lack serious depth, we arent that deep as a team)

Thornton was fine but its been shotty so far other then those first couple games. Really I think Prigs and Smith were key to our team, I think they were the glue and just two guys who will go out there and play.

He is still the GM for the team, but he really needs to fix the mess that is the roster.

Remember that this is the same roster that had everyone drooling just one month ago. The Lawson trade was considered one of Morey's best moves. JS took less money to play in LA, so you can't blame Morey for that. Dekker is looking like a mistake, but Harrell oozes with potential. Everyone agrees that Morey should bring in better shooters, but shooters are in short supply. Again, Dekker was supposed to help in that regard. It's not cut and dry. And none of it matters when your lead dog is peeing on the porch with the puppies.

    Firing Morey would be idiotic.

I love Morey, but he really owes us an explanation why he thought it was a good idea to implement an offensive system that relies on launching a ton of threes, only to load the roster with horrendous 3pt shooters.

    He should be.

This 3 point offense with no defense is killing the team.

Terrible coaching selection and then extending him.

Sam Dekker a bust with back surgery as a cherry on top.

Ty is not, and will continue to not be a bad move.

We just made the WCF. And we traded for a top 10/15 PG with NOT ONE PIECE of that Playoff rotation.

Ty is looking like a bad move because we did not, and I believe we continue to still not have a coach who can use him.

Simply because we need a coach who is good at drawing up plays.

    Morey must stay

But he made a lot o mistakes this year

    - picking Decker with th 18th
    - Not resign Josh Smith
    - There is no guide in Harden's life
    - Trading for Lawson?

Ty is a bad move and I wouldnt even put him as a Top 10 PG in the League, maybe barely Top 15. At the moment I hate to say his name but Lin is a better PG right now currently.

Even if we did have the right coach, Ty wasnt a fit to begin with.(I even backed Ty too btw, there was no way anyone could predict he will be this bad for us) We had a free flowing offense and he could not do anything with it. Im not even sure a coach like D'Antoni or George Karl can help him currently. He has been that bad.

I do agree tho coaching change was needed, but it should have happened two or three years ago. Right now the issues with the team are on the offense and defensive end, AKA we need a complete over haul on player personal and coaching since the squad is so one dimensional.

We also lost two KEY players to the Playoff rotation Prigs and Smith. Sure Smith took more money, but he even said it himself. "He didnt feel wanted." Morey at the time figured he will just play KJ, who cant even get PT.

I will say tho if DMO was healthy this season could be different, but Morey should have prepared for that. Harrell and Jones arent adequate cover for that.

I see the McHale firing as a domino effect. First the coach, then the GM, then comes the star players. I dont see Dwight or Harden being on the same squad unless they resolve their issues.

At the state currently I dont even know if Phil Jackson can fix this.

I don't want Morey fired, but he should be held accountable this is HIS mess, he built this team, he gave them the philosophy, this is 100% his team, he is the GENERAL manager, even he would tell you that he should be held accountable.
