Courtney is way better. He came in and delivered 12 points for the offensively challenged Grizz.

He won't need to create. He'll catch and shoot, make the right pass, and make correct rotations. We should be evaluating him relative to who he'll be replacing in the rotation, i.e., Francisco Garcia. In that context, I think he's a good pick-up.

I don’t know. Maybe. Maybe not. It all depends. Jason is averaging 10 PPG, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.1 blk this season (NBA.com). Surprisingly, his stats are not that much better than TJones, who often plays center when Dwight rests. Terrence is averaging 10 PPG, 7 rebounds, and 1.4 blks this year. Jason is a true 7 footer with length and can alter shots but at 240 lbs is not a shot blocker like Dwight. Jason can get pushed around sometimes in the paint. Terrence is 6’9’’ and 250 lbs and also can sometimes get pushed around in the paint, or shot over by the Bigs. And statistically, TJones has a higher FG% (50.6) than Jason (48 FG%), and, that number rises to 55% with Dwight on the bench (also from NBA.com). Based on the eye test, TJones is a better athlete also. Jason is rarely involved in fast break transitions but TJones is always out and running, filling the lanes and/or trailing. Jason is, however, better at the charity stripe (TJones has been awful there lately). But statistically, there is at least an argument to be made that TJones, even playing out of position, is already giving us what we could expect to get from Jason. Besides that, I am a Hornets fan and a Rockets fan, so feel ambivalent. I want Jason to stay in New Orleans. He played really well last year. I agree with most others here. The best/perfect solution for us as Rockets fans is to somehow convince Asik to accept his role as Dwight’s backup and we can all go home happy. If I misinterpreted your post and you were referencing the possibility of using Jason while BOTH Dwight and TJones are resting (with Asik still unavailable), I apologize. Sure, Jason could be utilized effectively with the second unit. in that case. BTW, if there’s still any interest in Ryan Anderson, there shouldn’t be. He has now been diagnosed with a herniated disk and is expected to be out for months.

Depending on where he lived in Milwaukee, Chicago could've been a 30 min drive. No need to move house or have his kids change schools.

Had a near 20ppg season and one of the most efficent scorers in the NBA...

    Center on SG/SF, meh.

    A few notes:

    1. Dunleavy's agent is indeed Arn Tellem, who also represents Rockets players Asik, DMo and TJones and numerous stars, including D.Rose and L.Aldridge.

    2. Dunleavy chose the Bulls in the summer largely because they were expected to be a contending team that could use his services (with the departure of Bellinelli) and he has NEVER been on a winning team his entire career.

I don't know if Dunleavy is very content being on the non-contender Bulls right now. Sure, Rose will come back next year and they may be able to make moves to become a contender before next season assuming Rose stays healthy. However, I don't think 33 year old Dunleavy wants to wait another season to play on a contending team.

He's probably too much of a professional to make noise about it, but it's gotta be on his mind, no?

    3. Chicago also could benefit from trading him for expiring contracts. Specifically, Dunleavy is owed $3.3M next year. The Bulls can have significant, but not max, cap room next season by amnestying Boozer. Trading Dunleavy for expiring deals would add $3.3M to that potential cap room.

    4. In terms of on-court performance, Dunleavy has actually been quite good. He has been a good high efficiency (111 ORating) medium-usage (17.1 Usage Rate) shooter who also makes decent passes. The Bulls have also been about as good defensively with him on the floor as they have been without him. So he seems to be at least executing his role on that end.

He can serve a role for this team, being more offensively creative and a better 3 point shooter than Garcia. He can also play some stretch 4 in place of Casspi.

I wanted Dunleavy this offseason if we couldn't get Korver or Reddick. I was really excited when we were meeting with him and disappointed when he shunned us.

He is a very good pick up that can fill the back up SG and SF spots, which are the two bench positions in most need of help, provided Smith get healthy and/or Asik gets back in the lineup and is motivated. We can't keep playing Harden and Parsons 40+ minutes a night! the whole second half, and expect them to be injury free.

If we can get Dunleavy at a good price then go for it!
