More facts for the record. It's approved for use in humans...for its anti-helminthic properties. It's used for parasites. It's not "a basic ionophore that facilitates zinc entry into cells." The mechanism of action is that it binds chloride ion channels which occur in invertebrate (read: helminths / parasites) nerve and muscle cells. It hyperpolarizes cells, leading to the death of the helminth. The nobel prize was indeed awarded...for research into how Ivermectin is a novel therapy against roundworm and malarial infections. Again, parasites. That's the key organism, here. Parasites.

The vaccine is literally free, which is the cheapest something can get. Looking at GoodrX, the cheapest option for Ivermectin is 20 tablets for $30.

If one wants to pay money to take a drug that's not intended for Covid, that's up to you. The alternative would be to take something free that was specifically designed for use against Covid.

doesn't need to be an either/or situation between the vaccines and something shown to help worldwide. this is why the japanese medical association is recommending ivermectin to combat covid. in places like india where vaccines were not readily available for everyone, the effectiveness of ivermectin is startling when looking at the data. in places like the US where none of the vaccines have shown to be fullproof, ie breaththrough cases (vaccine failure), other therapeutics could be administered. plenty of studies out there disputing the "only parasites" talking point: https://journals.lww.com/americanth...he_emerging_evidence_demonstrating_the.4.aspx

Andrew Wiggins Remains Against COVID-19 Vaccination, Could Miss Home Games

The Golden State Warriors are concerned about the status of Andrew Wiggins this season for home games as he continues to plan to not receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

The city of San Francisco requires full vaccination to be allowed indoors for entertainment.

Sources believe the NBA will grant Wiggins a religious exemption.

The San Francisco Department of Public Health said it would not comment on Wiggins’ specific situation unless he is granted a religious exemption from the NBA.

“We are actively addressing the matter of requests for religious exemption from vaccinations across many industries and will work with our business and entertainment community on next steps,” the San Francisco Department of Public Health said in a statement. “We will provide further clarification on this topic.”

Wiggins would forfeit more than $350,000 for each game he is forced to miss.

The Warriors recently connected Wiggins with an Oakland doctor who understands issues surrounding vaccine hesitancy. Wiggins remains unmoved in his decision against vaccination.

This is confusing, we have data out from the CDC that vaccine effectiveness against infection drops dramatically just 6 months from vaccination, yet there are still rules being set that infer something entirely different.

If this is for the promotion of the vaccine amongst the players, okay I guess, but if it's supposed to be a system that prevents spread, I just don't see how this is going to work.

Kyrie Irving Hasn't Received COVID-19 Vaccine, Status For Brooklyn Home Games In Question

Kyrie Irving has yet to receive a vaccination for COVID-19, multiple sources tell Yaron Weitzman of FoxSports.

The NBA, according to a league spokesman, believes that around 85% of its players are currently vaccinated; National Basketball Players Association Executive Director Michele Roberts put the number at 90% during a July interview with Yahoo Sports. Those numbers are about 10-to-15% more than the overall rate of American adults who are vaccinated.

Rules in New York City and San Francisco would prohibit members of the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Golden State Warriors from playing or practicing in their home arenas "without providing proof of at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination unless they have an approved medical or religious exemption."

Sean Marks didn't mention Irving by name when he mentioned the Nets had multiple players who were not yet vaccinated.

"Regarding if they could play today, I can't comment on who could play and so forth. There would obviously be a couple people missing from that picture," Marks said. "I won't get into who it is, but we feel confident in the following several days before camp everybody would be allowed to participate and so forth."

If these cats can still ball after being vaccinated, so can you.

The city of San Francisco will not permit Andrew Wiggins – or any other Warrior – to play home games this season without being vaccinated, reports Eric Ting of SFGate. The Department of Public Health stated on Friday that it wouldn’t matter if the NBA grants Wiggins a religious or medical exemption.

“At large and mega indoor events, all patrons 12 and older must be vaccinated at this time,” the department said in its statement to SFGate. “Under the current order, if unvaccinated, they cannot enter indoor areas regardless of the reason they are unvaccinated and cannot test out of this requirement even if they have a medical or religious exemption. This same rule applies to performers and players employed by the host at large and mega indoor events who are covered by the vaccination requirements of the Health Order.”

When Wiggins first commented on the vaccine in March, he said he didn’t envision himself getting it anytime soon unless he was “forced” to. He may have reached that point, since he’d risk missing the Warriors’ entire 41-game home schedule if he remains unvaccinated.

Is Andrew Wiggins Christian? (70% of Canadians are). Which of the main religions say no vaccine?

Wiggins is a Canadian. Is this like a Jim Carey thing?

Mentor Steve Nash should talk some sense into him.

The religious exemption has something to do with vaccines, in general, being tested with stem cells from abortions.

Yup, that's the reason why I choose Phizer. Has the least amount of stem cells out of the 3.

Yeah. I mean, are they suppressing research into whether prior infection also contributes to herd immunity. Or do cases with mild symptoms not create antibodies at all?

has that been answered with science?
