No, I guess he was close on adelman but basically didn't renew the contract (so not really fired).

The last time he fired someone was probably GM Steve Patterson back in 93!! Haha, or the Twitter guy, lol

Yeah, I don't disagree with you, I mean if they don't change game plan, then in tough west they'll be out for sure.

Nope. He's never fired a coach. Simply choose not to give new contracts to JVG and Adelman once their deals expired.

Even harder to believe is that after the unexpected success that a short-handed Rockets team had in the playoff last season, there would be any consideration to firing McHale after 5 games of pretty much playing without a PF.

I wouldn't hold my breath on this one.

In other news, my boss told me that if I don't hit my quota this year, I'll be let go.

That being said, if I am sitting on my side of the table, and I made my quota 3 years in a row, and then due to some unforeseen circumstances that I can explain, i don't hit it in year 4, I think I have a pretty good case to be made for keeping my job.

I have no doubt that Les has been communicating to Morey and others that he's not happy about the teams start to the season, but Les is a wealthy businessman for a reason. He's also a wealthy businessman because he understands risk assessment, predicting futures, and making sound investments .

He's NOT the type of owner who will make a rash coaching decision during the season unless complete catastrophe says the season is already lost, and they are already prepping for next season with a coaching change.

Yet I look around here, and everyone here for the most part is like "YES!!... ITS HAPPENING!!... SWEET".

You guys understand that complete catastrophe is not good for anyone rooting for the Rockets, or the Rockets organization at all? Also I'm not calling this Cyberx report BS because its probably based in some truth, and a good "Come to Jesus" talk probably did happen... but the timing is suspect to throwing fire on a mound of already angry and stirred up ants. Cyberx knows 99% of you guys will get off just thinking about McHale getting fired, and probably check your twitter constantly waiting for the Woj bomb.

My response to this would be to temper expectations to "it probably wont happen till June, if at all", and "if it happens that means the team really really freaking blew it, and that sucks more than anything".

A coaching change shouldn't be what we root for this early in the season because it means our team royally sucks. Do you "smart people" really want that?

We are lucky to have two wins. The defensive effort has been garbage, no offensive cohesion, exacerbated by hardens bad start. The team doesn't have the right culture obsessed with winning. The other stuff is symptoms of this problem.

This team does not have a player on which a winning mentality and culture is based. Remember, last year it seemed to be Jason freaking Terry. Nobody who is obsessed with winning. Not Dwight, not harden. It has to come from somewhere and might need to be the coach to draw it out of Harden ( who is young enough to develop in that way ). That's the real missing piece to win it all.

    Les knows.

I would be surprised if they're clicking by the All-Star break. I don't think the WCF will be the deciding point.

Lol, yeah... No way anything happens, Les loves his organization and is happy mailing it in with big names and money coming in. So... I agree with sentiment that nothing happens till after season or after contracts end. I mean rockets are like top 10 in nba in revenue and he's making money over all the expenses so it's basically lining his pockets with not much change required. I mean obviously the Rockets have to be competitive but fortunately with the team making the playoffs consistently the average fan is happy. Unfortunately it's not football though, then he could have ****ty team and still make bank (see texans/Cowboys).

If we're still hoping for a championship this season, then a coaching change needs to be done NOW. If we wait until after the all-star break, then it's too late. Other teams are in midseason form, while we're starting over again with coach X.

A coaching change after the all-star break is pretty much conceding we will not win the championship this season.

ROFL, exactly, a year before Les owned the team, haha. That's pretty crazy streak of non-firings though...

Anything less than WCF is definitely a step backwards especially with an actual above average starting pg.

Timing is everything...in life and in sports as well.

When/if McHale has taken the team as far as he can...that is the time to make a change. I'm sure Les is certainly smart enough to recognize that...unlike many on here.

I like it...do or die environment and rightfully so...heck I was looking towards June but les is talking in a few months! He's right tho in my opinion...if they come up short something needs to change for sure....Bob McNair you watching? Talk about pressure including another potential trade before the deadline. If this is true, Les has put everyone on notice. Everyone

I think this is nothing more than setting expectations, but probably something that is missing from a lot of owners.

WCF is absolutely the bar and I would expect them to consider a coaching change if not, barring injury to Harden/Howard.
