Apples to oranges. We signed Jeremy when we had zero market capture, we acquired Harden right prior to the start of the season so there was our new market audience. Out goes Jeremy, essentially from that second. That's not fair to stay, their was a chance for him to prove himself, but there was no longer a reason why we got him.

It was simply because we had nothing else, and we needed to establish a market. That's called business.

McHale, now not so much. I'm obviously 100% pro firing him, but replacing him is hard.

Two years ago we severely underachieved both in the regular season and the playoffs. Last year I had us at around 55 wins, we got 56. Considering the injuries that was a slight overachievement, but going to the WCF as a 2nd seed is what should happen.

I don't see how my post missed the point. I was just saying it is a combination of acquiring/developing talent, as well as the staff putting them in the right position to succeed. I believe that McHale and his staff has done a good job with the second part, but it's just my opinion.

That's why it is so hard to evaluate the job a coach has done, because it is super subjective on how people perceive who is doing what, or who is responsible for the successes or failures. Was D-Mo's development largely because of the coaching staff? Or would have he developed that well with any coach?

There are just too many things we don't know. I just prefer to judge a coach based on the on court performance/wins, because outside of that it is pretty much guesswork from the outside looking in as fans. We just don't have nearly the information needed to say coach x would without a doubt be better for this team.

I'm glad you posted what you've heard, cyberx. I really appreciate it. Having said that, I find it very hard to believe.

You mean the Rockets under the previous coaches? Yeah, the Rockets have always had good coach at the helm, even though they don't always have good (or healthy) talent on the court.

Luke Walton would be a good choice. Once Steve Kerr returns to the Warriors, he would leave if it meant a head coaching gig. Warriors haven't missed a beat without Kerr. Walton has done a great job and his dad could help our bigs down the road.

McHalen is not an NBA quality coach. When in the HELL are they finally going to realize that? Bums like Harden and Lawson need someone that gives them structure.
