It would be a sad fact if Alexander and Morey did not know what McHale was 4 years ago when they hired him.

That would be wasting 3 years away with 2 superstars. Really 3 years of finding out? :p Trust me, they are all in on this.

But now it is more like 'Show me results or you can go' attitude

I love that Les is putting the pressure on McHale. You got to have high expectations with this roster. If I were Les, I'd make sure the rest of the staff knows they're going with McHale if he gets fired. If the coaching staff has the option to throw McHale under the bus to their own benefit, it inhibits the coaching staff's ability to work as a team. If you force these assistants to hitch their Rocket-coaching-career to McHale's, they'll all work harder and be more open with McHale about their ideas.

That being said, I like the coaching staff, but they've underperformed thus far. That can't continue.

Not if he rights the ship, it isn't.

This is the thing, last year the Rox have finished 2nd, and the year bwfore that they got homecourt. The Rox have always over achieved in the regular season, and even if they always under perform they improve every year in the playoffs from 8th seed against OKC to WCF last year. People here always complain a lot but when it comes to results Mchale is not bad. Who here predicted the Rox will be in WCF last year when the season started?

I think a trade in February is way more likely than a coaching change. First to go: Brewer if he doesn't get his act together + a prospect in Capela & some throw ins.

I'm holding onto hope for McHale, but the team needs to play better. Even with injuries, they can still beat any team in the NBA. But, they haven't played like it yet. It's way too early to make a change to the helm, but it's okay to start making contingency plans and acknowledging that things have looked bad so far.

McHale has plenty of time to get this going, but what's wrong with lighting a fire under a guy when he has this kind of team? We should be a 1 loss team, max. Is everything McHale's fault? Nope. Not at all. But something needs to happen and coaching is a good place to start. My hope is that that change comes with the all the current pieces and coaches in place.

It's almost like putting McHale back into the playoffs and telling him to win or go home. Nothing wrong with that. Especially because McHale is more than capable of getting this job done. He has what he needs. Tonight will be a nice litmus test though. Looking forward to it. It's not do or die, but if we lose by a lot, it looks really bad. Any type of win and we'll gain some confidence to build on.

By then, it's just too late. That's my issue, it's just too late. We wasted another year, and have two pending our FAs(our 2nd and 3rd best player).

smh OT, You're bonkers homie if you think we are trading Capela. No way no how. You don't strike gold and then trade it away.

But I see a trade coming too: KJ McDaniel's contract has trade written all over it just like last year's Kostas Papanikalou. And I bet TJ or D-Mo will be traded. 90% sure it would be TJ.

Morey would trade Capela in a package for DeMarcus or a similar premier big.

the coach is just a recruiting tool for morey. mchale helped land a second star but struck out on landing a 3rd.

brooks will help recruit durant, but even if he strikes out he won't be any different as a coach than mchale because its morey's system.

But he's able to admit a mistake. CIAO, Jeremy.

    Maybe CIAO, McHale, too.

Tom Thibodeau would be solid choice. He had Chicago playing really well if not for the injuries to D-Rose they would still be a power house in the East. And since he is cut from the JVG coaching tree he insists that his teams play defense which we clearly are not doing this year..lol

Capela is not likely to be traded unless it brings in a star and we don't have the assets for a star.
Corey Brewer is playing like he's untradable, not in the good way. And his contract is not expiring so it's not like we can get a player the way we got Lawson. Ditto for Tjones and Dmo is questionable with the health issues.
I think we've already proven this forum is way too high on KJ.
Yeah we can't make much with trades this season.

All powerful front office executives have coaches that share their philosophy and ultimately their view of the game.... When you have a divide; the coach is excused (Thibs, Adelman, Carlisle, Karl, Jackson) from his duties.

He made many mistakes.... if he were not a relatively rich owner but a common GM

he would have been fired many times
