He's pretty active in the community. I believe he's won the community assist award thing in the past.

Why not keep that fact quiet? 'Cause it's all about growing his "brand" and he doesn't even have to spend a penny out of his own pocket.

I hate twitter, He should have a bunch of suit cases with numbers held by hot girls hosted by Howie Mandell to add to the drama

    He can't win either way.

He does this and keeps quiet and people criticize him for being a drama queen and milking the spotlight. Word gets out about it and people call him out for not spending his own money and doing it as a publicity stunt.

What's the benefit of keeping it quiet? It might encourage other athletes/celebrities/average people to be more active in the community.

Chris Bosh said he also wanted to get on the ESPN decision special but was told go away and not excessively piggy-back.

It would be funny if he announces he's going to play in China or Europe. Do something no one expected.

He made the request to ESPN (who reported it), I don't think there was any way it was going to be kept quiet.

I feel like some people just look for reasons to dislike LeBron. Yes, he's a self-promoter. He's also been a celebrity since he was 18. And he's not exactly Deion Sanders.

Seriously. He's a great player, and by most accounts a decent guy. He's certainly no where near that a**hole that Jordan/Kobe was/is. Even with the ego, which you could argue is justified, I have trouble understanding why some people really seem to dislike the guy.

pretty sure that lebron isn't going to be making "billions".

and yeah donating a few percent of your net worth at one time is a big deal, so don't be a dick.

Well I hope he at least b**** slaps the Cavaliers in the face, if he picks the Cavs it will be such a letdown and totally not worth being a "special" on tv.

People dislike the guy because he doesn't need to have the ego. You can be mega-talented and humble at the same time. Regardless of how decent of a guy he is... if you ask ESPN to do a one-hour special for something that would take 3 seconds to say, you end up looking like a douche.

If anything LeBron has shown us he is a great business man and has held us in suspense for weeks, some even months now.

Great marketing job and will have everyone tuning in to an hour special just for him to make his decision. Pure genius.

Based on Bosh's earlier tweet "Today is a GREAT day", do you think he knows? Are they teaming up somewhere other than Cleveland?

If he does not select Cleveland can you imagine the reaction in Ohio? The whole city of Cleveland would be sucked into a black hole never to return... the riots, the crime, murders, robberies???.... AWESOME here is hoping he goes to Miami!
