whoa, that's just something you don't do, like sleeping with your best friend's sister. **

**if she is a step sister it's fair game.

Uh, not sure that's a fair comparison. IF Morey wants to cut McHale and wants to promote Sampson, that's not out of bounds. Especially if he's not actively "campaigning" for the job.

IF he thinks he has the inside track, not sure I'd hold that against him.

Would you turn down a promotion if your boss was fired? I wouldn't...

If I am chris finch, I won't turn it down, as the rockets groomed me.

If I am Bickerstaff or Kelvin, I'd turn it down, as I was picked/recommended my Mchale.

He has a plan in play for when McHale is asked to step down

They need to let go of bickermouth as well. Chris Finch is the real deal. He needs to be closer to Mchale if not the coach.

What if McHale *wanted* him to take the job?

I know that if I got fired and had a right hand guy and he got offered a promotion, I wouldn't want him to turn it down. Loyalty is great and all, but if I'm their friend I wouldn't want them to turn down the opportunity of a lifetime.

The angle I was coming from was more like if the Rockets don't pick up McHale's option for whatever reason and bring in a new coach. That new coach will likely bring in their own assistant coaches and thus Sampson will be out of a job. I'm feeling like this U of H job rumor is just a back up plan in case that does happen.

Kevin McHale isn't getting fired and UH isn't a back up plan for Sampson.. If he goes to UH it is because he wants to coach in college again.

Was just told that Sampson has agreed to coach UH and all that remains is approval from the BOR at UH....

No I don't have a link... I was told by someone that would know. Take it for what it is worth.

Tough blow for the Rockets. Sampson should be an NBA head coach somewhere, not college.

What a great get for the University of Houston.

Getting approval from Renu K and Lynden Rose should not be an issue as they were involved from the very beginning getting Sampson. Rose is no longer on the BOR but she still has a great deal of influence. It also should mean Rose's son LJ isn't leaving the program.

Lyndon Rose is not a "she". HE started for Phi Slama Jama in 1982. Come on son, step your historical game up!

I am using my IPhone during a deposition... and getting e-mails concerning this all at the same time.... hard to juggle all of them at the same time.

I am sure I will see you at some Coogs games if I can get back into Houston.

Not a big KS, but it would be a good hire for UH. I think he is more suited for the college game. He doesn't handle egos very well.
