Again....... Thibs wants a great amount of control over the organization he goes to. Will the Rockets make him the defacto President of Operations? Unlikely with Morey as GM.

It is going to be tough sledding for the Rockets this summer, they are not going to get a big name, established coach because there are none available... that means whoever they get will have to EARN the trust from the Rockets players, and that is going to be hard.

 

Thank God. More reason to go full rebuild with a young coach.

 

meh, no offense but X isnt necessarily batting 1.000 on his opinions lately. If you toss JVG a bunch of cash and say 'what do you need' I'd venture to guess he'd warm up rather fast.

I give up if we end up with Mark Jackson. I can't stand Mark Jackson. If i have to see his stupid face 82+ games a year............

Atleast Mark would yell at the guys for being stupid. Not that he's a great coach but next year we might be a much younger team he could be a developer before we get a championship caliber coach.

 

Whoever gets the job, that's 3/4 years of commitment, because Leslie honestly believes he's been very respectful of his treatment of coaches.

 

That's something that won't be changing in 10 years. No need to complain about it.

well if JVG's relationship with les isn't great, i would venture a guess that thibs feels the same way. our options are going to be limited.

i'd give either one of them power over morey. the coach should be in charge of the GM and not the other way around.

 

Rockets next head coach will be Luke Walton.

 

Man I get an entirely different impression of what JVG thinks of the Rockets whenever I hear him on podcasts or radio. He constantly lauds us for not tanking and rebuilding while trying to make the playoffs. I understand he's upset about the McHale firing but I see that as more of a coaches fraternity thing than anything else. JVG comes off as having little to no ego. Hard to believe that a personal conflict would prevent him from coaching again.

Obviously CyberX has more insider info but it doesn't line up with everything I've watched/listened/read about JVG.

 

Doesn't JVG still live in Houston?
