What is the point of barely making 50 win seasons once in a while?

    That is the real question.

Teams like Spurs and GSW will win 60 wins or more

We tried to form a dynasty with Harden and Howard but failed.

GSW is doing a better job there.

I pretty much agree with this. Much better than Whiteside and Dragic.

IF Dwight said that he wanted out or would leave this offseason... and IF Atlanta really did want Howard there, I would even include a draft pick or young player (Harrell? Dekker? Jones?) or something else if it was needed to make that deal happen

So are you willing to let him go at the end of his contract?

How many years would you give him to make a serious run?

What players do you want to surround Harden with?

Again when do you plan to rebuild?

When is the best time to call Harden a second option or 3rd or 4th?

Seems we might have young players to get in on that action, cutting Miami out of the situation. Maybe not on the level of a Winslow.

Morey must not know if he's coming or going right now.

Haha the Suns want a first for Kief. That's cute. Good luck getting that one Phoenix. I would give up Jones or Brewer for him straight up nothing more.

Nobody wants Dwight Howard. He's too much of a risk - health, money, value. We are stuck with him until the end of the year and then he walks.

Morey is really dumb if he takes Dragic and Whiteside...this time he might be desperate enough. Though trades have never happened as rumors indicated with DM so if Howard is traded, it won't be this way.

    Trade 1:
The Hawks want Winslow, wonder if they will bite on KJ..

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=hcjg696

    Hawks OUT: Horford, Teague, Korver
    Hawks IN: Howard and McDaniels

Rockets OUT: Howard, McDaniels and a 2nd
Rockets IN: Horford, Teague and Korver

Salaries match up perfectly. The Rockets may need to throw in a 2nd to sweeten it up.

Hawks get Howard and someone with a lot of potential. Might not be Winslow potential but KJ should still be regarded pretty highly.

Rockets get Teague on a good contract the next two years, a good look at Horford before he hits FA and Korver can be magic in this offense.

    Trade 2:
Then the Rockets swing Jones and Brewer for Ryan Anderson and Bogdanovic in a three team trade with the Pelicans and Nets.

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=hyj4ptm

    Nets Out: Young and Bogdanovic
Nets IN: Gordon, Jones and a 2nd

Pelicans OUT: Anderson, Gordon and a 2nd
    Pelicans IN: Young and Brewer

    Rockets OUT: Brewer and Jones
    Rockets IN: Anderson and Bogdanovic

Nets now have two mega contracts set to expire in Johnson and Gordon. That's more than 40 million in expiring! They can go into FA with enough cap space to sign almost 3 guys to MAX contracts! Plus they get a look at Jones and a 2nd.

Pelicans now get pretty good value out of Anderson, who was probably going to walk in FA this summer anyway. They also get value out of Gordon and in return get two guys on pretty good contracts considering how much the cap will rise. Brewer is definitely a bench guy and he allows Evans to move back to SG and Holliday his starting spot. I think Young is a good fit next to Davis.

Rockets get a look at Anderson before FA and a good prospect in Bogdanovic to back up Harden.

    Trade 3:
Finally Rockets send Lawson and Terry to the Bucks for Miles Plumlee in a 3 team trade with the Bucks and 76ers.

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zy5vsoa

76ers OUT: Carl Landry and Grant
76ers IN: Mayo, Vazquez and 2 2nd (One each from Bucks and Rockets).

Bucks OUT: Mayo, Vazquez and a 2nd
Bucks IN: Lawson, Terry and Landry

Rockets OUT: Lawson, Terry and 2 late-mid 2nd
Rockets IN: Plumlee, Grant and 2nd from the Bucks.

76ers get two expiring in Mayo and Vazquez, plus 2 2nds for facilitating the trade.

Bucks get Lawson, who they have shown interest in before. Since Kidd is with the Bucks, Terry will probably be bought out and sign with the Mavs. Landry is there to fit salaries.

Rockets cut ties with Lawson and get a little value in return with a 2nd and a young energy guys. At this point, that's probably all the value you can get for Lawson.

    Overall:
Rockets OUT: Howard, Lawson, Brewer, Jones, McDaniels, Terry and 3 2nd.
Rockets IN: Horford, Teague, Anderson, Korver, Bogdanovic, Plumlee, Grant and 2 2nds.

    PG: Teague / Bev
SG: Harden / Bogdanovic / Thornton
    SF: Ariza / Korver
PF: Anderson / DMO / Harrell
    C: Horford / Capela / Plumlee

If he takes Dragic and Whiteside with Horford and Teague going to Miami like has been suggested, he needs to be sacked for Josh Smithing the team like Joe Dumars did.

What if Horford's agents told the Hawks or Rockets that he didn't have interest in re-signing with Houston? And what if the Hawks will only trade Teague for Winslow?

I feel like that would be the case if that kind of trade went down. And if that is indeed the case, then I don't mind Whiteside and Dragic.

Although I would think about sending Dragic to a 4th team because of his contract, like the Jazz for Trey Burke and Booker or something. Even without sending Dragic to a 4th team, the value in a Howard for Dragic/Whiteside swap is pretty good for Houston IMO.

Since Whiteside comes with no bird rights and Dragic's contract sucks (the Josh Smithing), nothing would be better. And really, if he's willing to go along those lines, he should just trade Harden to the Lakers so Durant can join him there and be done with the whole roster.

Hawks fans would lose their minds if the Hawksbtraded any two of the three you had listed for D12. There is no way that trade happens. Poopoo platter trade

I don't think Jedi mind screwing those GM's will work over the phone. These types of trades will take more time to travel than we have right now. Otherwise, nice job.

The Dragic contract is NOT a bad contract.

The cap is increasing from approximately 67 million to 89 million and then the year after to approximately 110 million.

Cmon bro you should watch enough basketball to no harden is not a 3rd or 4th option. If you think harden needs to be the 2nd option in order to beat GS I can undertand were you are coming from even if I don't agree but 3rd or 4th option.

Now who's trying to make the Allstar squad to beat the Warriors?

I don't understand why your grilling ppl For saying winning 54 and 56 games the last two years with harden as the guy is mediocre? We went to the conference finals and lost with two key rotaions players out. I mean we all want to beat the Warriors but guess what? Every other team including the 8 loss Spurs has the same problem. Didn't they get there ass kicked by 30 a few weeks ago?

Trading harden is going backwards if the goal to try and win a chip and beat the juggernaut in Oakland.

I don't like it, I doubt Morey likes it. But treating it a poisonous is wrong.

In 2017-18, Dragic will be making 17 mill and if the cap will be 110 as you state, then Dragic will be making about 15.5% of a teams cap space.

That's equivalent to 10.4 mill this year, and 14 mill next year after the huge cap jump.

Now that we have some math in here, is it really that bad? No. Is it good? No. Its a fair and will be trade-able though.

Like I said we could probably flip Dragic to a 4th team if we wanted to.
