Exactly. I see this mentioned in the media but it doesn't make much sense. So the Hawks are going to move out Horford (who they don't want to pay the max) in order to pay Howard the max? Howard who is probably the worse of the two and older.

The only reason I see a deal is if Horford tells Atlanta that he's for sure leaving to go to another team despite what Atlanta offers, and one of those teams is Houston. Which would be kind of odd at this point.

Why is that Broussard all the sudden is getting all the "insider" info about Dwight? The same douche that reported Dwight is having a change of heart at the last minute and might be going back to the Lakers. Don't think that Dwight and his reps forgot about that one. I doubt they'd give him anything anymore, and when was the last time Broussard reported anything of significance???

I would take this with a grain of salt. Broussard trying to stay relevant and hedging his bets on Dwight trades.

Iv been thinking about this the last couple of days and its one of the few deadline trades that make sense.

Bosh and Wade are 31 and 33, for the Heat trading replacing Whiteside with an older Howard wouldn't make a difference to their championship window. Howard is the better fit for them, Howard would gel with Wade and Bosh more.

Both can bolt in free agency and everybody knows it, that's I think the this is the only trade that makes sense. Rockets don't want to max Howard, Best don't believe Whiteside will stay.

This is a chance for You to see how Whiteside would work with them and the same for Howard and the Heat. If things go well both teams can re-sign the players.

I'm a for this trade. I'm for Whiteside as our future center over Howard as well, he's 26, very little milage, relatively healthy I think, elite rebounder, effecient finisher at rim, out of this world shot blocker averaging 4 blocks in 28 minutes. Most importantly, his max is capped at 21 million this summer, + he can only be offered 4 years.

I'm not worried about his immaturity any more then I am with Howard, Whiteside and Howard do the exact same **** when it comes to T's and being a "head case".

Howard has 12 T's this season. #1 in league

Whiteside? 5. Tied with 8 other players(Bev being one), between being 16-24 in the league.

Exactly. Dragic and/or Winslow here. They get one of our point guards (don't want to lose Beverly, but everything needs to be equitable).

Whiteside to a third team like the Lakers for Tarik Black and a 2nd (Lakers should kick the tires on the youngster before investing money in him, as malakas seems they will).

Dwight Howard and Ty Lawson for Teague and Horford?

Most likely unrealistic. Atlanta is considering trading those two because they will be free agents, but both Lawson and Howard will be free agents as well. But somehow work out a deal or include whatever extras were needed to make a deal work around them?

I hope Rockets don't try and bring Dragic back! That's a waste of max money! You could surely spend 20M elsewhere.

I'd also love Horford for this reason, be can play the 4 and 5.

With Howard and Whiteside, you won't want to be playing Capela of Harrell next to them much for any extended minutes because their lack of range. With Horford you would have absolutely no problem playing him along side either of them for extended minutes over the season because of Horfords shooting and tremendous versatility.

So if Capela ever breaks out, he will always be stuck behind Howard or Whiteside. With Horford, Capela, Harrell or any PF/C we draft or trade for will always have the opportunity to fight for a starting role next to Horford in the front court regardless of their range or position.

Half their team? Anderson doesn't play and Green and Whiteside are gone after this season. This is basically the chance to see how it works with Dragic, Wade, Bosh, and Howard. They also get a 1st.

Re: Miami, they are a team that wants to win NOW, and they know that they won't be able to sniff the Finals with their current team. Their only real assets, outside of their core, are an injured Tyler Johnson, a FA-to-be and headache Whiteside, and Winslow.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Winslow moved along with expiring contracts for a major upgrade (shooter? stable big man?), but I'm not sure Riley pulls the trigger on a Dwight for Whiteside/Winslow deal. I'm also not sure Morey is willing to add Whiteside to a team that already has a number of chemistry issues.

Might be a bigger mistake than manufacturing Harden into "the man".

Because they want to win now, doesn't mean they will give us their only valuable asset for a rental.

In the end my opinion is : this year morrey who is the most notorious GM for never giving any crap about chemistry and personalities ,found himself with lockeroom problems.
If he trades for whiteside to me it proves he has learned nothing.

I don't think Chris Broussard has reputable sources whatsoever, but even if he did, it became abundantly clear during Howard's last free agency that he has absolutely no credibility when it comes to Dwight.

    Remember?

50/50 chance he signs with Lakers (meanwhile every other outlet in the world is saying that he has chosen Houston)

Except you are about 8 to 10 million shy in salary coming back to the Rockets to make the deal work. Splitter could be included but does Houston want to lock themselves out of the Durant race with 67.5 million in salary (without Horford's cap hold which depletes ALL of your cap space).

If you're primary goal is Durant in free agency, its going to be tough to pull off a Horford trade without a third team sending expiring salary to Houston to keep the dream alive.

My opinion though is that if Horford agrees to give Houston the first leg up in free agency, I think you should do the deal, and try the them move salary this Summer if you can. Morey though might think differently with priority #1 being Durant it seems.

I think Morey/Les needs to make the best deal for Howard. I think the team can be better in the near future without Howard and could even position themselves for a better core in FA.
