As FTW said, "right price" = David Lee, who they're probably going to buy out anyways.

    Real haul there!

And the Hornets, their beat writer said they aren't trading for Dwight (or Monroe). You can "Ahhh that's just his opinion" but why would Charlotte give up something when Dwight won't re-sign there?

Dont forget Dwight to Cleveland, Kevin Love to LA and Griffin to Houston...

Though I insist I wouldn't trade Dwight except for Cousins, I think I would trade him for Griffin. Griffin and Harden would be a much better 1-2 punch than Howard and Harden. But Griffin has grown into such a great basketball player, it's hard to imagine him leaving LA. They did very good developing him.

With all this being said, I dont honestly believe we could get Cousins or Griffin unless during the all star break Harden tells Cousins to whine like a little baby. Which he's probably going to do anyways. :p

You aren't getting Griffin for Howard and you'd be lucky to get Love.

Why would the Clippers trade their good PF for a lesser PF?

Clippers aren't trading Griffin, not for Love anyways. They'll wait to see what Durant does. If it comes to it, maybe offer Griffin(OU) for Durant.

Dwight's 30 years old, in decline, and a free agent to be. Sorry to say but lower the expectations on what you'll get in return, if he's moved at all.

Cousins would destroy this team even more. He will never be the focal point of an offense and get past the first round.

Face it, the era of the big man has left. It's all about stretching the floor even at the Center position. If you can't shoot then this new league will expose you.

Dwight asked Orlando and Lakers. Two teams who hate his guts. At this point he will resign in Honolulu if it brings him 5year max.

And the Hornets will know it.
The reason Bonell doesnt' want it it's becasue Hornets fans hate Al Jef and blame him for everything. But Dwight is nothing like Al JEF.

I'm going to say, we're not trading Howard. He's worth keeping even if he just rests for the rest of the season.

The flexibility we have in being able to sign him above the cap, or let him walk, and have that massive expiring create cap space for us... I can't think of a situational which financially and strategically works better for us.

I'm sure Fegan is rattling the cage right now because he doesn't like being in that position, but it's not going to change. If he walks, fine, but I think if we sign someone early this summer Dwight will quickly realize that $20m in Houston is better than $24m on a non-contender. This is his last contract if he wants to win a title. No contender is going to pay him more than $20m IMO.

Wow, did you just say he is still a star player?

Holy shlt according to the posters here, I thought he is some kind of hot shlt that this team can't wait to get rid of.

Last time I check, we are on the edge of the lottery, and trading a star player could really help.

Howard's contribution doesn't really show in the regular season, it's the playoffs DH that dominates. That said, not worth it to pay him $30mil/season and he'll want one more fat contract as he enters his 30s.

Nothing indicates we are even close to a deal or even a team interested enough to give up something solid.

Agree with everything here, i think ill call the deadline a win if we get rid of brewers contract somehow, that alone would satisfy me. I do however want to see Jones, lawson or bev, with ariza or capela packaged for a significant return.

I think we should have a little look towards the future here, try to snag someone on the rise on a good contract (smart, hozijna, hill, mkg etc..)

Even if Howard isnt the best fit next to hard he is still a top 3 player in his position and i dont think it would be wise to let him go unless someone overpays which isnt happening.
If we can land a legit PG this deadline like Hill or teague or maybe an average one like smart depending on who we trade we can set ourselves up very good in the future for example

    PG Hill
    SG Harden
    SF Max player (Durant)
    PF DMO/Josh
    C Howard

or maybe give Batum a big contract and front load dwights , but it gives us a nice starting 5 with bev, capela anchoring the bench KJ, harrell, dekker, lull?,gentile?,)
As bad as this season has gone we are still not as far from title contention as they have shown this year, a quick revamp with a good coach could put us right back where we were last year. The deadline is a big step though so look for either expirings or good contracts

To be fair, the Rockets played extremely well last season and plus with that version of Dmo, the team is more balanced, hence we did exceptionally well in the regular season last year even without him. That's a fact, a fact of an overall good team play.

Not this year, this current team is garbage, they are just having an average record against bad teams without him this year, all the decent wins over good teams this year, he is a big contributor.
