Yeah it will be very hard to replace him in the defensive end. But it will be obvious very soon. We play the Suns after the ASW don't we?
That game has potential to be epic. 140+ for both teams and thats without OT.

But the matter of fact is that Dwight at age 35 is going to cost 50 MILLION DOLLARS.
Thank you Dwight for your contribution and you will be dearly missed but goodbye.

If you happen to see any of my previous posts you would know that I'm pretty...anti-Boston. And I would take the Boston deal and believe that it helps more now and in the future. Crowder is a versatile wing who plays great defence and can either be put in small pf or be the backup sf for Lebron. Olynyk has improved massively in defence this year. And Zeller is a good young center. Plus theywill get firsts that they can trade for more win now players and they can dump Varejao's contract to Boston. Oh and probably receive also Amir as filler.

Basically Boston has everything that the Cavs would need to help them try to win. Much more than one Dwight.

Is this a joke? Harden can't handle not having the ball in his hands. Until that changes, you can pair any playmaker with him, and it won't matter. (Exhibit A: Ty Lawson) Oh, then you have to make sure the other playmaker is an elite defender, as James can't be bothered to give max effort on that end of the floor.

Dwight isn't the problem here. The problem is James Harden. He came in out of shape, doesn't bring max intensity every night, and gives a damn only on one end of the floor.

    "I chose this team."

There is a special place in my heart for loyalty, especially during rough times. We are lucky to have Dwight.

    What does Dwight want?

Does he want to win? Stay here, grind it out, and get some changes, whether coaching or player, in the offseason?

    OR

Does he want the money? Traded now to a team that is willing to pay him the max (Boston? Atlanta? Dallas?), but don't really have a shot as far as winning goes or a star running mate.

I feel bad for Dwight. He isnt utilized properly, and is surrounded by the worst passers in all of basketball save one or two guys. He's done the best he could given the cirmustances, and when the lights were the brightest he showed up time and time again. Team already gets murdered on the boards, without Dwight it will reach epic proportions. "His defense isnt that good" ... he sure changes alot of shots.

Cest la vie .... good luck to the big fella, it was fun while it lasted.

Came in out of shape and is still out of shape. He can barely move unless he has the ball

Is he not utilized properly or does he not want to do pick and roll and only wants post up touches which everyone but him knows he sucks at? He's always been #1 or #2 best pick and roll big his entire career and if he still isn't mature enough to do what is best for the team, then i say good riddance. This is all assuming the reports that he wanted more post touches and didn't like running PnR are true.

Yep. They luckily got there despite themselves. It wasn't McHale or any player on this team, except perhaps Josh Smith since he saved their asses by channeling Lebron. That isn't happening again.

Well lets look at playoff teams and see how many have defensive centers are as good as Dwight. The Rockets sit at 9th with Dwight. There are 16 playoff spots. The team we just lost to Portland just killed us with Myers Leonard and Mason Plumlee. The Spurs don't have a true center. Cleveland has been basically starting PF's. Boston? Mavs? Chicago? Not even close.

Jordan and Drummond are probably the only two better than Dwight in the league defensively. Everyone else has worse centers than Dwight defensively and they are doing better than us. This is no longer a center's league. Its a face paced up and down scorer's league. You need players who can score and defend now. You can't waste 23 mil on a guy who can barely get his own shot and when fouled gets taken out of the game. Thats over now. Cleveland went to the finals with Timothy Mozgov. They did that because they have players who can both get their own shots and defend. Rockets need to do that.

He wants money but he doesn't want the media to crucify him for it. What he doesn't get is they hate him and it doesn't matter what he does.

He's saying the right things. And it's generally true.

I don't want him to wind up any sort of scapegoat for the b.s. that befell this team. It was just a weird witch's brew of jacked-up-edness, and the only thing I blame him for is the stupid succession of technical fouls that helped earn us a 3-game slide about a week ago.

But hell, even that was borne partly of frustration over what's gowanns on here.

That's pretty much it. But it's better a parting of the ways. Let some other sucke---er, um, someone else pay him what he wants.

The only players who run the PNR properly with Dwight are Marcus Thornton and Ty Lawson to a lesser degree. EVERYBODY ELSE sucks at running the most basic play. Either they will vacate early and usually get Dwight called for a moving pick, or after the roll will spike the ball at Dwights feet and expect him to make a miracle catch and finish.

Add to that the comedy of errors which is the entry pass for this team and you have an elite level center wasting his time here due to dumb teammates and incompetent coaches. It is what it is.
