Everyone is all mad but this is actually a very typical Morey trade deadline. He almost never does what is expected, and the trades are typically out of left field.

We honestly have been around long enough to have expected this.

And as Clutch said himself in his column... all moves should be made with 2016/17 & 17/18 in mind. This is a clear indication of this.

I LOVED D-Mo. One of my favorites... but I saw this as a potential months and months ago. There was only 3 months of real potential realized for D-Mo, and no indication that he can produce at that level for a full season. As much as I love the guy, I have my doubts he can be the #2 option for the team which is exactly what they'd be paying him to be this Summer.

He also was likely to get a first day offer which would have put a massive cap hold on the Rockets books in free agency and kept them out of signing other players. All eyes seem to be on next year and this Summer. Moving D-Mo now sort of signals that.

The whole Jones thing is overblown. Everyone wants to trade him, but if he's not good enough to get something close to what the Rockets got for D-Mo what's the point? You're likely helping a team out and getting nothing back in that type of deal.

Good contract, and can help the right team in a smaller role. With the Rockets just too much asked of him. Not surprising he is being shopped as I'm sure Brewer & Ariza are as well.

I expect at least one more deal to happen the next hour. Ariza would be my out of left field guess.
