No kidding.. Seems like he just wants his final pay day before hanging it up. Regardless if he wins or not. He's got a lot of kids to take care of

Move him Morey while you still can. Take what you can, don't need the sure Diva attitude Dwight will unleash on the team, knowing that you have been trying to deal him. Plus he will be looking forward to the Summer, to bolt for the max.

Of course he will seek it, but he will not get it from a decent team. Who cares what Fegan seeks?

He's going to take a pay cut OR go to a stupid team. Either way, we should keep him past the deadline if we are retooling big time. This season is lost, nothing short of a foundational piece in a trade is worth more than $25m coming off the books this summer.

Dwight's #1 value right now is being a contract that can allow teams to start from scratch this summer. He represents the ability to have space for a max contract this summer. That has value to us, and the only trade worth making is one where someone offers us something of greater value than MAX cap room in the summer.

if Dwight wants the max, he will have to play his ass off. Nobody will give him the max if hes just playing like he wants to leave. Dwight has max millions of reasons to play hard for the rest of the season

We won't pay Dwight that much. I just can't see Morey being that stupid. I want to keep Howard if we can, but on a shorter contract at a third less that he's projected to max at this summer, if he exercises his option. If Fegan has made it clear that Dwight will exercise that option and walk if we offer below max, and Daryl can find a suitable deal now, then adios. That, or enjoy the cap space later.

Yes. The Utah Jazz and the Detroit Pistons two of the youngest teams who have already been making steps to make the playoffs are very clear examples that the modern NBA hasn't passed centers like Dwight.

Dwight was never a low post scorer! Why you think he ever was?

    a) dwight was always a dominant defensive force a rim protector a good rebounder with pitiful offensive and post moves.
    b) the modern NBA hasn't passed by that kind of C, it has passed by the slow , posting up C with the questionable defence. Which Dwight never was
    c) just because Dwight himself has been aging and losing some of his athleticism doesn't mean his style of C has been antiquated. Teams are still looking everwhere to add C like him. They just don't want to pay them 30 per for 5 years. lol

The myth I see around is that the modern C has got to shoot. Yeah? Well that would be nice, but tell me exactly how many stretch 5 who are also good defenders are in the league right now???

Perhaps in 5-10 years when there are actually...more of them we can talk about the game surpassing dominant defensive C who can't shoot. Not right now.

The game has NOT passed Dwight by.

Very true. I will add that the lack of most big men having a post up game has forced the NBA to go in this direction where players like Howard are acceptable. Boogie is the exception and what a true Center should actually be able to do. Dwight is a top 3 center in the NBA and the only thing stopping anything is his request for more money over a longer period of time most teams wont go for. Cant win for losing.

Seems like we aren't as stacked as many on here think. The only assets with any great value are Harden and Capela.

I could see a smaller market team in "win now mode" (playoffs cash in), with little to no hope of pulling in marque free agents, go for the max for a guy of DHoward's current calibur, teams like Charlotte.

It's not whether a team will offer Dwight the max, it's whether a team will offer Dwight more than he's worth to the Rockets.

    Trade him.
