nobody said Florida has a monopoly on hotel rooms...I said that Disney has a bunch of gyms, courts, the staff needed, and hotels capable of hosting 22 teams for months all in 1 centralized space which is 1 of the main reasons it was a possible destination in the 1st place

So aside from Hawaii, it would have to be held somewhere other than the United States based off the examples presented.

Won’t Disney staff be able to go in and out? If the virus is rampaging in the area, then there’s a higher chance that they could contract the virus while outside of the bubble.

I think the players will stay in the bubble. U don’t want to be the dummy who went out and ended up giving the whole team Covid-19 ruining the season. Most of these dudes won’t be there long anyways.

First off considering it's just empty gyms who gives a **** where it is?

If you're stuck in a bubble campus it could be Orlando or Outer Mongolia, it really doesn't matter. But probably should choose the one without exponential community spread, no?

Second, any major city in the US has the capability to do this. But Florida has the unique combination of capacity and Coronavirus that makes it very Florida. Ironically, new York City is probably a much better option now.

All totes unpredictable. Now NBA is aiming to send it's players into a raging local pandemic that already chased all of MLB away.

    Not great Bob!

I am almost convinced that there would be hiccups along the way.

It's not like the Playoffs are done with in 3 weeks.

Of course it matters. The buble isnt a complete isolated cut off from the rest if the world place.
There will be hundreds disney employees walking in and out without being tested.

Most importantly the players arent soldiers and this is not a some zombie apocalypse that you can count on fear to have them stay isolated for months.
The protocol will be breached repeatedly and there will be many who will go out of the bubble.

If instead of Florida it was staged in some relatively virus free area there wouldnt be a problem but now it just seems unfeasible.

Doesn't Disney have a resort island they use for their cruise ships. It could be repurposed.

Seems like the NBA has a really solid contingency plan as cases explode in Florida

Most teams aren't slated to arrive in Orlando until July 7, 8 or 9 -- except for Toronto, which is the only team scheduled to arrive during the first phase of the plan (June 12-22). No games are expected to take place until July 30. Given the weeks-long gap between the most recent reports in Florida and the resumption of the season, several team executives and other team officials said they are hopeful the number of coronavirus cases will start to decline.
    Alexandre Dumas approves.

That means it's not really a bubble. Saying that it's a bubble is misleading.

If they let employees go in and out without strict protocol, and let NBA personnel slip through, then the whole concept is just dumb.

    Yup. Pretty dumb

Just like banning Chinese citizen from entering, but freely allowing Europeans and US citizens in to spread the virus into NYC

DISNEY must own some private islands.

Only way this would work is private island and no one can entry or leave after two weeks quarintee

But NBA players will never go for it

Looks on track based on all credible reports. But if you don’t think it will. I’ll gladly bet the season will resume for a tip jar bet to clutch

Does it look more on track in the last 2 weeks with Florida's COVID19 explosion or less on track?

This is why Hawaii was a million times better choice, though I don't know if Hawaii would have gone for it, insofar as the state is not run by Trumpist dirt merchants.
