I made several posts about that potential trade last year.
It would have required Philly to send back 5 players to make the money work - Doing so wouldn't have made them a better team.

This guy has no trade value . It’ll be he either finishes the year out here or he gets bought out

Haven't yall noticed ANY player coming from Hou has no trade value. I doubt there ever was a 1st available for him.

It remains to be seen if Eric Gordon will be bought out. I don't think Tilman will agree to it.

    Why wouldn't he?

He has financial incentive to do so.

If he refuses a buyout, he pays his entire salary for the season.

If he agrees to a buyout and EG signs elsewhere, he recoups the prorated amount of his new contract - essentially any money the new team pays the player is recouped by the team who bought the player out.

It's stupid for Tilman to refuse.

I think at this point he's getting bought out. There are too many good players openly being traded that would be better gets than Gordon.

Yep. I think Irving putting his name in the pot, screwed any hope of a Gordon trade. It was unlikely anyway given his contract and the fact that we would only take back expirings.

I don't believe Kyrie being in the mix changed a thing, I've been of the opinion that a trade was unlikely since the trade deadline last year.
That contract was just too difficult to match being between the MLE & the max & not wanting to take back salary beyond the end of the year made it that much more difficult.

There was never a trade that sent EG out and a pick back without anything else. Teams had to send back at least $15.5m and no interested team had that in a single expiring salary & multi player deals made the math worse & meant the Rockets had to clear a roster spot too.

None of that makes sense for the returns that have been stated - a late 1 or multiple 2's ....

I just hope that they do indeed cut him loose if a trade doesn't go down.

    I like EG.

I also want him off this team as soon as possible. At this point, I don't care what we get back.

Exactly this. Nothing against EG, he has value for a contender, but he's completely useless for Houston.

Im going to predict we get a first for Gordon. He has played increasingly well and could be the difference for a team like Milwaukee against Boston.

maybe it would be prudent to trade him to Milwaukee with the ability to push their first round obligation to next year.

All I know is that Dallas have been the most active players in Texas, much more active than Spurs and Rockets.

I want Eric to be traded or bought out. HOWEVER I WILL BE SAD IF THIS IS HIS LAST GAME AS A ROCKET WHICH IT MAY VERY WELL BE.
