I think the Rockets will be fine, if we re sign Beasley. We will have a decent 1, 2 punch with him and Harden.

The only way this upsets me is if he somehow perfects some reliable moves in the post and/or develops a mid-range game in the offseason. Since he's yet to do that in the past 10+ years, I have a feeling this won't be the year he decides to do that.

It's been great; last year was fun; but it's time to move on.

Less than two max is I think good enough for them. Not like there will be too many FA want to sign with teh Knicks.
And they can trade Rolo before signing Dwight. His 13 per for 3 more years is a good contract. Charlotte for example would be all over that.

If Rondo gets 25 per I would laugh. Typical Knicks lmao.

    Horford's max is 30? He's not a 9 year vet?

Beasley has a team option next season so that's already done.

homecoming you mean Orlando or Atlanta?
I don't believe Budenholzer has any interest in Dwight's skillset.
But Orlando might. They are fed up with Vucevic's lack of defence and want to win now.

In fairness, they put Dwight in the best position to do all of those things....he just didn't do very much with the opportunity. If not for guys like Jones and Capela, Howard would be the worst player in the post on the roster. That's nobody's fault but Dwight.

If he goes, then I wish him the best wherever he ends up.

He was our best performer in the playoffs, and he has sacrificed a lot of his game and has withstood constant criticism of his game in the process to make a go of things.

I think he needs to forget about contending, and go to a team that will let him get his shots up and feel wanted offensively. I don't know where that is with the game being played the way it is now.

Most disappointing is people's inability to get past their dislike for this guy who has really done nothing to deserve it. He's been a pro on and off the court, he stepped up his game when the situation and his body called for it.

The NBA has changed drastically since he signed with the Rockets.

GSW don't have a star C but have Bogut for defense, Spurs have a make shift PF/C in Aldridge who can shoot and has post moves, Cavs have Love and a defensive presence in Thompson... so on and so on.

Which makes me wonder why the Clippers re-upped on Jordan. Was it out of desperation?

The inability to have a good post move has hurt Howard and teams want the Rockets to give Howard the ball.

We need a Love or Aldridge type of player at the C position to match up small with the Warriors and Spurs.

PG: Fix it. Get rid of Bev
SG: Harden (Hopefully Thibs can come in and make the guy play at full speed on def...)
    SF: Durant
    PF: Beasley, DMO, Harrell
C: Someone like a Horford, Capella

    Everyone else can go.

This is a make or break off-season for Morey (Much like Rick Smith...). I'm more than positive that he can find a replacement for D12, someone that matches up well with the best teams in the NBA. Someone who fits a set scheme.

The real question is...do the Rockets see Dwight as a Rocket beyond this season?

The answer is no it seems. Fact is, he's not worth the money he will want to command....and he's surely not a consistent offensive weapon.

Beasley and Dmo bring more to this team offensively than Dwight does and as for his defense it is usually good...but it's not max salary good any more.

Not only will they need more but we do not have enough of a statistically significant sample (the alliteration is an accident, I promise) of Beasley's play to anoint him our #2. Given his history, the Rockwts would be foolish to consider him a building block at this time. Right now he's just a bit of A1 sauce on the crappy piece of gristle that has been the Rockets' season.

    Yeah, Morey got a steal.

Crucial in going for Durant. What more does Durant need? We can offer him a 1 year deal at max value since Howard is gone.

He can play with Harden, and Beasley and have a say on the next coach.

Reserves in DMO, Capella, Harrell. Room to get other pieces.

Something needs to change and it's not going to be Harden. I love Howard and wish he would just adapt but it is what it is. Would love to see him run the pick n roll with as much enthusiasm as Beasley does.

I would snag Whiteside before I snagged Horford.
3 years younger, comparable stats, perhaps even favorable. Little taller with a 7" longer reach.

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/howardw01.html
    http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/whiteha01.html

Horford has a 12.3% total rebound %, Howard has 20.5%, Whiteside has 23.0%.
Be careful what you wish for.
