I think this is a good thing. Do we chase Whiteside this offseason?

Where's the "I told you so" crowd? Is there anyone here, who three years ago, said that we'd won't this guy gone just as passionately as we thought we wanted him here?

Cyberx, do you think Dwight will join Parsons in Dallas? I personally think Portland is a good fit for both sides, I just don't know if Neil Olshey views it the same way I do..

So Dwight Howard turns his back on Houston?

I think we should just not play him the rest of the season. His effort and attitude has changed since the trade deadline anyways. I can't blame him though. We should just tank and get ready for next season.

What is most interesting (and frustrating) about Dwight this season is that his post game is probably as efficient as its been in years. But his ability to finish ANYTHING else inside has virtually disappeared. Some of this is the hard foul most teams use when he catches it inside but even still you would think a guy like him could figure it out.

Can it really qualify as turning his back when it's the right move for both sides?

Dwight is doubtful he would get offered the SUPER max and where are you going to spend the around 25 millions you would spend on him?
Who will be our new starting Center?
Banking on going over Riley to steal Whiteside or luring Horford when he will have way too many suitors?

We could very well end up with someone like Noah.

I know he's declined, but I still think he's a top-5 center. There's a huge drop-off defensively between him and Capela. I wish him all the best if he leaves.

Is there any chance that he opts in like he did in Orlando?

It was pretty much a forgone conclusion that he wouldn't then. More so than it is now, IMO.

Dwight isn't going to be as coveted as he thinks he's going to be but this is a move he feels he needs to make to see what sucker organization he can get to pay him another huge contract. Since coming to the Rox and being able to follow him more closely, he's a very frustrating player overall. He and Harden are very flawed players to build around and on top of that, Dwight is declining and really is just not worth the salary he's trying to command. Best to move on from him.

I appreciate the effort he gave us every post season. Good luck wherever he goes, it's obvious we aren't the best fit for him. He'd be great in Boston.

Noah has been on the Rockets radar, so absolutely that is someone they would look at.
