I believe we all knew the chris paul experiment was going to be short term. With all the talk of Tillman being pissed at the Cp's contract.. I'm sure he saw the writing on the wall. I don't think he was pissed at the idea of being traded rather than where he got traded to.
Heat want cap space in 2021. Paul contract can’t help them. Buyout, Paul wants money. Play for Lakers or China?
People keep saying cp3 is smart So he knows his body cant play the full reg season and playoffs And he knows hes rapidly declining So he should have known having 40m locked up with him pretty much closed the rockets window
So paul with his injury prone fragile self and rapidly declining and not living up to his contract is all Hardens fault
Cp3 was who Harden wanted. Harden knew his age, his injury history, ssns his temperament and attitude. Harden wanted Paul. People like you should stop pretending that this is on Cp3. It's not. Cp3 wasn't the one turning the ball over half a dozen times. That was Harden. This whole show is on Harden. We have catered to Harden MORE than the Cavs and Heat catered to Lebron for crying out loud. And it's the same cycle every year. A cycle of Harden blaming everybody else. No matter what moves we make our exit from the playoffs remains the same. Harden performing poorly and blaming somebody else and demanding this or that happen. Come back next season. Repeat. Harden sucks as a GM. Harden sucks as a coach. Harden sucks as a recruiter. Harden sucks under pressure. But for 65-70 regular season games and 4-7 first round playoff games he rocks. This bologna, the condution of this organization, us losing in the playoffs, us never having the right pieces, it's on Harden. Honestly if he demanded either him or cp3 had to go.... we should have shopped him to Toronto for Pascal and picks and let him rot up there. Then traded cp3 back to one of the LA teams and rebuilt ourselves or build out around Paul if he wanted to stay. Harden has continuously bulldozed us into also-ran status. IT HAD BETTER CHANGE. Because if it does not change next season...... we need to move Harden while he still has max value. We should not let any player drag the franchise down into the mud. And we're dangerously closer to that happening right now. THIS DEAL WITH WESTBROOK HAD BETTER WORK!!!!! OR it's time to shoo Harden out!
Duck See Pee Feelecia. Dude should send Harden a thank you card for that 140m contract. Aint nobody done him wrong. If anything he stole those millions. I Hated him when he was in New Orleans , I Hated him when he was with the Clippers and had to tolerate him as a Rocket. Felecia's gone …. I don't have to tolerate him anymore. All that chirping at the refs & nagging everyone else. Never really liked WestBrick …. but damnit , he's a Rocket now. Go Russ ?!
Paul was injury prone when Harden recruited him. He just finished playing 61 games and he wss north of 30. It was a GIVEN that Paul was only going to play 55-60 games a year going forward. I knew that when the trade was made. We didn't make the trade to run Paul out for 2500 regular season minutes. We made the trade to win game 7's. We made the trade because Harden felt he could win it all with Cp3. Quit absolving Harden. He's the one responsible for Paul being traded here to begin with.
Can't deal with reality. You can't deal with the fact that our superstar player is a low character guy.
Yeah, man. Before we had Harden, we were winning championships and having huge parades every year. Oh wait...we weren’t...we were actually finishing 9th year after year and in purgatory. Harden’s taken us to two WCF where we faced the eventual champions both times. He’s won an MVP, he should have won at least one more. He’s basically the best offensive player in the game right now and the dude upped his defense a ton and carried this franchise this past season, including the playoffs. Dude has earned the right to call the shots if he doesn’t think things are working. Players run this league, specifically star players. CP3 and his banana boat buddies may be upset, their agents may be upset, but it doesn’t mean that even a large fraction will turn down offers to come here if it means playing time and/or a championship opportunity. If it does, oh well, we didn’t need them here anyway if they’re going to be that petty. But, yeah, keep pushing some kind of stupid narrative. Sure, trade Harden if we don’t win a championship so that we can go back to not making the playoffs...that’s a ton of fun for fans /s.
Dude did not need Harden for a 140 million contract. Dude had a 200 million contract waiting for him that he walked away from to come here and win. Thank Harden for what???? Screwing him out of 16 million and putting him in a non winning situation when all Paul did was call Harden out for his stupid selfish non championship play so Harden could change it and they could win? Harden is the one being and has been the butthole here and is exhibiting immaturity. Harden is exhibiting all the indicators of a non championship selfish ball hog who refuses to be a good responsible leader and teammate. He's exhibiting disloyalty. He's exhibiting denial of his failure. He is refusing to look at his own game in light of making his teammates better. Harden is coming across very very poorly right now.
Love what he did for us in his first season, but he needs to explain his total failure in his second season before he starts pointing fingers. I always defend guys like Ryno who were overpaid and it was understood that he was not going to start doing things he could never do before. I can't defend a guy that was worse than any age-related decline could explain. Out of shape, bad energy, didn't even come back to average in the playoffs. The promise to extend was not unconditional. He didn't do the bare minimum.
Yeah man. When we got Harden we started winning championships..... Stupid argument Bro. We are perennial Also-Rans. Harden is McGrady reincarnated.
You people simply do not realize he was a very good player this past season. He had a better season than Westbrook, DLO, Bledsoe, etc. He was not bad against GS, he was just not dominant. He was never bad at all last year, ever.
This thing has layers to it. CP3 deserves a lot of credit, as we basically beat those bastards, only to have it stolen from us by Adam Silver and his minions. He did his job, and subsequently got paid for services rendered plus the upcoming seasons. And, Tilman and Daryl did right by him. Since then, there has been some decline in Chris, but not as much as folks are making it out to be. He can still run an offense better than anyone along with the best mid range package in the game. We needed more balance in the offense..not a lot, but some....There are definitely philosophical issues at work here that mask the essence of the situation. CP3 is not close to being as washed up as most think....but, he's not worth 40 million/yr either. With all that said, our window is NOW. The Rockets don't have time to mess around, and really needed to insulate themselves against further decline, injury, and said philosophical/strategic issues. (which had apparently been causing internal strife) ..while increasing our upside and going all in...NOW. We just couldn't be "hamstrung" by that contract. I understand where CP3 is coming from, but better than anyone, he knows this is a business. He was given that monster contract...Again, we haven't done him wrong...Quite the opposite. In a perfect world, Chris would have gotten his ring when we were robbed, and this wouldn't be as big a deal...but, it is what it is. Our Rockets did what they had to do. IMO, the perfect move.
