Yes, suggesting posters kill themselves is indeed rational.

Someone should trick Clowney into thinking next season is a contract year.

I think it's pretty rational, and it would probably be effective too.

I'm not ready to give up on him. But it's not as if the veteran outplaying him is playing really well. Jones has been, at best, mediocre, and yet the guy we took to address that need using the very first pick in the 2nd round of the draft can't supplant him. I find that concerning.

I'm more than surprised that a team that finished 2-14 last season and had the first pick in every round of the draft is getting next to zero contribution from any of its draft picks. That's nuts.

Yes, troubling. The 2013 draft wasn't exactly good either.

I don't think studogg is referring to people like you (or me, since I agree with you on this). It's more the doomsday people rambling on and on in every thread about how this is the worst franchise in the history of professional sports, McNair is trash, BOB is an idiot, every single move the Texans make is wrong, blah blah blah.

I don't have a lot of faith in them. And I don't they're a well run organization. But I'm not going anywhere. They play for Houston.

    FTFY.

I feel like every subforum has just a handful of dumbasses who ruin all discussions by not knowing when to shutup. I mean, it's the internet, and you're definitely allowed to be a dumbass, but be a reasonable person and only post a couple times a day! As it is, this subforum has become unreadable.

I'd like to vote the following people off the island:
    Bobbythegreat
    Remii
    HTownDieHard

And probably 3 or 4 more I can't remember off the top of my head.

So what is one more? Right?

The forum is the same, what has changed is the mediocre treadmill of the Texans has reached over a decade.

Who said Cushing is a "hero"?
He WAS a pro bowler that is now busted and broken..... and being over paid by the Texans brain trust.

Speaking of the "pre season", Clowney missed time then too.... and he hasn't missed "a few games"...... he has missed 80% of the season so far.

First, you don't use high draft picks to fill "depth", but beyond that, what "depth" have REALLY gotten from the 2013 and 2014 draft? The 2014 draft so far has been HORRIBLE.

Who said anything about giving up on him? However being concerned about a high draft pick struggling, on top of OTHER high draft picks struggling is understandable.

Who called BOB is an idiot?

However, are you confortable saying BOB is your HC the next 7-8 years? I am not yet.

I tell you what, you are so confident in McNair, Smith, Clowney and company, I think you should set the example by jumping first.

    Ditto.

If I owned a company and McNair, Smith and company were employees, they would be gone..... but they are the only football team in town and they are Houston's team, so I will pull for them..... but it doesnt mean they are competent.

[rQUOTEr]Speaking of the Texans, it's worth paying attention to what Jadeveon Clowney is saying about his knee issues. One of the concerns with the first overall pick back in the spring was that he was such a "kinetic" athlete that he'd be predisposed to soft-tissue injuries. Sure enough, in his first NFL game, he hit a soft spot in the rugged NRG Stadium turf and suffered a meniscus injury that's lingered. In April, Clowney's off-the-charts score on the "force plate" test, administered by the Atlanta Falcons, garnered a lot of headlines. But clubs were just as interested to hear what else was found about his physical makeup. Dr. Phil Wagner, who created the test, told me then that, "(Clowney's) movement signature validates that he's both very physically gifted and physically resilient. What we found is he's not a large injury risk, and he certainly has a lot of tools." Hearing that would be encouraging to teams, but the fact that it was even brought up shows there was a level of concern.

It would be nice if we could lock this thread until after next weekend. Everything just depends on what happens for the rest of the season.

This and every other Texans thread to be honest. The Texans forum has been taken over by pretty much the worst the Texans fanbase has to offer. If the Texans win the next game we can open it back up but the "sky is falling" fans and the "fans" who are just here to troll the franchise are pretty hard to read over and over again.

What about those who are trolling those that they believe are not knowledgeable fans? And also, what about those that are murdering already dead horses?

hit a nerve nook? Forgive me for wanting to give BOB a chance. Forgive me for remembering how bad Bud Adams was. Forgive me for understanding that a team without a quarterback is very limited. Forgive me for understanding that Teddy Bridgewater or Johnny Facebook are nfl scrubs in the making. Forgive me for understanding that an elite defense anchored by watt and clowney could power this team for 10 years. Forgive me for understanding that the teams depth had been decimated over the previous 4 years (much like the astros in the last year of mclane).

I don't trust, respect or believe in rick smith. I respect McNair as a business man and for fighting cancer and am still very appreciative of him bringing football back to Houston, but he has shown that he's too passive of an owner and allows mediocrity without demanding results.

My hope is that BOB changes these things.

So far, I have some measure of belief that he is. The didn't acquiesce to Andre's demands. Played mexican standoff with the Patriots and only gave up a crappy pick in order to get a shot at a potential QB of the future (low risk, high reward - very morey/schrewd) and most probably, have better grades on the qb's coming out next year than they did for the group this year.

I loved their draft strategy and thought they played it exactly right. If they continue with that strategy, they will do well on most years. This year looks disappointing given injuries to Nix and Clowney as well as a slow start from Xavier and the alphabet tight end. Blue looks like a steal and I fully expect production from Clowney and Xavier as time passes by. This draft can still be very good. Grading it now is shooting your load too quick.

but go ahead and exaggerate every detail as you pour gasoline on the baby and bathwater and flick a match at it.
