I would say NO to Melo if both Martin and CBud are required.

Yep. And he was the best player on BOTH teams.

(While Lebron, Kobe and Wade are better NBA players, Carmelo was clearly the most dominant guy on Team USA, and his game is just so well suited for international competition.)

I hope you are joking. Carmelo was awful on team USA... Do you want to look up the god awful shooting percentages?

Again, this might be sarcasm that I can't detect.

Hmm... I'm usually in agreement with most the things u say, but I don't see how a player like melo wouldn't make us better!? I don't see him as a ball stopper or ball hog.... He had charecter issues early in his career but has grown up alot over the years! If we were to get melo, the uncertanty of Yao is no longer an issue! However, I also believe we will be just fine without him. But, although I won't do what these other guys are doing and tell u ur "not contributing to the board" I respectfully disagree!

My bad. Must have just been a bad shooting slump for Melo.

I was thinking of the 2008 World Championships, in which Team USA won the bronze and Melo made the All-Tournament team. I think he was the best player on THAT national team.

    The Bronze hmmmmm?

    ;)

    Just look at those stats

.422 FG%.......against that level of competition.......I mean I don't want to interrupt the Melo Snogfest going on around here, as people are just excited that houston is even being considered, but I just don't think he is all that great.

IMO, one of the most overated players in the league.

That's a pretty dumb argument, especially considering he has a career FG% of 46% in the NBA.

Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, and..

Carmelo Anthony is the best wing player in the NBA after those guys. You don't turn down a trade offer for a young, elite wing player because you're worried it might mess up the offensive flow of a team that made the lottery last year and has one second-round trip in the last decade. This is really a no-brainer decision.

Some of you act like we'd be breaking up a championship team. It's time for you to step outside and get some perspective on reality.

I don't really have a top 10 per se, but I do have some I consider a superstar.

    Kobe
    Lebron
    D. Wade
    D. Will
    CP3
    Dirk
    Duncan (or was)
    Durant

That may be it for players I think are truly superstar players in the league right now.

What does that make you then, kid? All you do is follow me around and make stupid comments.

Are you that desperate for attention, did your parents not love you?

If you don't like me, (which you said you didn't) then put me on ignore, no one gives two craps about whether you constantly disagree, try something for once....

Contribute your opinion and stop acting like a 13 year old.

Nothing is ever guaranteed, don't be stupid. It's not really will Melo makes this team worse, it's can we win a championship with Melo.

All I've heard about Melo's game, based on pure observation, is that Melo can play defense (when he wants to), Melo can rebound (when he wants to), Melo can take over the game (when he wants to). He's an elite level scorer and would instantly be the go-to-guy. However, he has never striked me as the player with the toughness and attitude to do what it takes to win a championship, because it is more than putting up 25 ppg seasons.

But does he give us a better chance than we have right now? We can sit around and wait for Chris Paul to be available, but that may never happen.
