If your the Houston Rockets and your not willing to give up one of your starting guards for this your simply crazy. If you are not willing to take him for bench players, draft picks and a trade exception your simply insane! Bottom Line.

To be honest, I'd trade in a heartbeat anything Denver wants that isn't Yao or KMart.

    Aaron Brooks
    All our draft picks
    All our exps.
Using our TE to absorb a contract
    Even Luis Scola

Melo is a top 10, if not top 7 player in this league. We aren't going to see another one come this way in a while.

LOL Knicks defense was horrible; so many open shots for Denver.

You're back on the CP3 train? I thought you called him a punk and didnt want him on this team. You'd rather roll with Brooks.

I HATE CP3, and think he IS a punk, but he is special on the basketball court.

He does more than score, he makes his teamates better.....Brooks may fit this team now...but CP3 is better than Brooks in every way possible.

Look, bottom line....I want to see what this team can do, as assembled...when you keep making trades, you are taking steps back in continuity and chemistry.

Hold the line, and if it is not working, then trade.....but this team as assembled now, looks really good to me.

Thats because we watch basketball..Melo was the only reason the nuggets with lesser talent at EVERY OTHER posistion cometed with the lakers in WC finals...

We are substantially better than the nuggets and SF is our biggest need. Not to mention with Yao and Melo it would be easy to get the Celtic and Heat treatment by FAs... I mean there is absolutely not negative in trading for him.

You need to lay of the stat checking. lol Melo is a top 15 player at least. When you can add someone like that ...you do it...you figure the rest out later.

ok you got me on that one...but you got the point. Melo over Ron... Billups over lakers PG....but the rest of the team including the bench>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>nuggets.

The biggest difference is even though billups and melo were better scorers...the rest of the lakers offense aloud the fact they were matched to a degree by defenders ...almost negating their posistion advantage.

If I were Morey and trading for Melo, I would offer K. Martin in a trade before I make Brooks part of that trade. Adding Brooks to me would make very little sense, especially when he completely owns the NBA champs. The rockets would have a threat at the pg spot in Brooks, an offensive threat at the 3 in Melo and one of the top scoring centers if healthy? in Yao.

You have no clue and change your mind every 5 seconds. You obviously have not seen Anthony play. I do not like the guy myself but as a Rocket I would take him in a heart beat. He is clutch and can take over a game. He scored on 3 Rockets defenders last game here in Houston. We double teamed him half the game and he continued to score.

What I don't like about his game is he can be a ball hog at times. I think with our offense this could change. He is getting older in age and hopefully will learn this.

    We need someone like Melo who can score and draw fouls late in the game, someone who has the "superstar" status because the NBA refs only give these Superstars calls late in the game;

Ron Artest was on the Lakers when they played the Nuggets in WCF a couple years ago?

And Nene is not as good as Bynum in your mind?

Melo's PER is higher than Martin's, he scores more points, gets more rebounds. Melo's efficiency was higher than Kobe's last season. He is a superstar.

No. But Fisher is their weakest link. LA's strength is in their bigs and Kobe. LA had better bigs then Denver. They had no one for Kobe. They were the better team.

Yes defintely Bynum>Nene...I mean I love nene...but I dont think this one is close. Bynum is a way better offensive player. Nene is more of a clean up player. You can actually run offensive sets with bynum...

Ariza/Artest ... are interchangable...why are you sticking on these minor details...the point is they were significantly better.

I agree, the way I feel about Melo is the same way I feel about Kobe and Lebron, I hate them as people but would love to have them play in Houston.

What is your list of superstars, that you think Anthony is excluded from?

You build teams around superstars. In the past for the Rockets, it's been Hakeem's team, or before him Mo Malone's team. And you get parts that fit around that superstar, that option #1. The Lakers are Kobe's team, the Heat were (imo still are) Wade's team, the Celtics are Pierce's team, everyone else fits around those guys. Who is the centerpiece of the Rockets now? Yao's a question mark and Martin and Brooks are complementary pieces not in the class of those other guys.

Look, last year's Rockets finished 8 games out of even making the playoffs. When we were last in the playoffs, we had trouble establishing Yao when he was fronted, preventing his being a #1 option even when fully healthy. I love the Rockets, but this team, currently constituted, still is a superstar away from winning a title. Darryl Morey believes that, why don't you?
