So they are starting off asking for Brooks, Martin, Budinger, and Foster? In addition we give away Battier and Patterson to someone else for Tj Ford and Carmello? Thats 5 of our players for 2.

Lets take a look at our lineup after that to make a decision..
    Yao/Miller
    Scola/Hayes/ Hill
    Carmello/Jeffries
    Lee/Lowry/Jermain Taylor
    Tj Ford/ Lowry

Still have Knicks picks and our picks.

Thats borderline to me. Although thats not exactly a bad deal just not a great deal for us. I would consider this because your getting Carmello locked into a long term deal and to me thats the more important objective in all of this. More than likely we arent giving up Martin, Brooks, Battier, Budinger, and the 14th overall pick Patterson for just Carmello and Tj Ford. Thats two 20 point scorers, a 14 pick in the draft, and Battier an expiring defensive, expert, and a sixth man of the year candidate in Budinger. I think we should get back more than that. Like Carmello and Billups for that and then it would be a fair trade.

If the Lakers can get Gasol for Kwame, if the Rockets can borrow Artest for Donte greene, and if Boston can Get Garnett for just Jefferson and scrubs, then we should be able to give up just Jefferies and 2nd round draft picks for Mello.

Kind of... I don't know what Denver would need with Brooks, though, when they have Billups and Lawson.

If they include Lawson or Billups in that suggested trade besides Tj Ford. I make that trade right away. That kind of rids the Pacers out of the deal though in some way or restructures it.

Billups is getting old and not going to be there forever. He can also play the 2 at times.

    Brooks/Lawson
    Billups/Smith

    Something like that...

us getting lawson in return is kinda like getting aaron brooks back if we move him. a downgraded version of aaron brooks that is.

Then again if Denvers getting Brooks to go with Lawson why cant they just throw us Billups if they are getting Brooks, Martin, and Budinger?? They need Brooks, Lawson, and Billups?

Think about it for them and us. They get

    Anderson
    KMart
    Budinger/JR Smith
    Martin/JrSmith
    Brooks/Lawson

    We get
    Yao
    Scola
    Carmello
    Lee/Billups
    Billups/ Lowry

It works if they give us Billups instead of us getting TJ Ford.

It doesn't make sense for Houston.
Why would they send away half of their rotational players just for Carmelo?
It's not worth it at all. Not at this price definitely.

I don't know which Nuggets's board DD is referring to but this one had a true insider posting several seasons ago.

    http://nuggets.proboards.com/index.cgi

I think Nuggets4 is also a member/lurker there. You need to be registered and logged in to be able to read it though.

I'm not sure how interested Morey is in Melo. Who Am I kidding. He's probably going thru all his mathematical stat formulas to see how he fits.

I will say one thing Carmelo played with Iverson and his game didn't diminish. They were actually pretty complimentary. There's not many stars that games could work with AI. So he definitely doesn't need to dominate the ball to succeed.

yeah im pretty cautious with this rumor too cos i dont see melo as a morey guy. maybe because im not too fond of his game. i see him as a 1 dimensional scorer.

i'll take melo if denver's giving up and starting over and we dont have to give them much but expirings and our picks. jeffries, 2011 & 2012 picks, battier buy out, trade exception?

i guess hes the first all star player since tmac (when he was still dangerous) who can ably create shots for himself and have the ability to drop alot of points for us.

personally, ive never been a fan and i dont want to give up our guards. jeffries, battier, maybe hill, the picks.
