    I know your not hating.

I'm saying that if Carmelo "pulls a Bosh" on us we'll see the same kinda threads.

Who needs Bosh when we have Scola will become who needs Carmelo when we have Bud

Nuggets will take the best deal they think possible. When you are dealing your superstar you can't turn down a good deal because you play Houston 3 times a year.

All I have to say is....Carmelo is a smart man.

Bosh didn't use us for leverage. He kept dodging us during the entire process. That guy planned on going to play with Dwade and/or Lebron the entire time.

well you know, getting one might attract the other.

i think the rockets are loaded with desirable assets. maybe as much, if not more, than any other team in the league. they have enough to make really good offers to both the nuggets and hornets.

The idea of not sending melo do a western team doesnt really apply, if they trade him, they're gonna be rebuilding, not vying for the playoffs.

Denver knows the Rox 2 acquired future Kicks picks are valuable if they send Melo to Houston instead of NY.

Besides, NY has nothing to offer.

The easiest road to the Finals is to remain in the West.

After the Lakers it's anybody's guess who finishes 2-8. There really isn't a clear cut 2nd favorite here.

In the East he would have to go through Miami, Orlando and Boston just to make it to the Finals. I doubt the addition of Melo minus a star from NY, NJ, ATL, CHI or any other eastern team is good enough to get by Miami, ORL or BOS.

Now that you mention it.....your right.

In any case, I'm not getting my hopes up about Carmelo (at least not 2 high) until I see him on stage with Daryl Morey holding a #15 Rockets jersey.

    :)

I wonder who decided to leak this information now. I would think Denver would be behind it to use Houston as leverage to nab Favors, but they don't have a GM and would presumably get a better deal in February at the trade deadline. If it is from Carmelo's side, inducing a bidding war is against his interests if he wants a strong team around him. I am confused by what's going on. Nobody involved should be talking publically right now.

Where are the Rocket's stalkers now? Anybody following Morey around at the moment? Is he talking on the phone to Denver? Is he at the airport with a Denver ticket? Pictures aren't necessary, just report.

This makes no sense as leverage though. It states that Carmello would sign with us as extension. Meaning if he would? Then there is no team who could offer more and he comes here since its from him as his accepted destinations. So we couldnt be leveraged if we have the most to offer.

The whole conference thing is BS. Nuggets will take the best deal possible, you HAVE to if you are dealing your best player.

Look at Minnesota, they are in the same division! They still give Jefferson to the Jazz.

    Pau to the Lakers.

Hell, Kevin Martin was traded here.

And I'm sure there are other examples in the past. You take the best deal you can get. You want to get the best you can from that player. NYK fans are underestimating our chances just because "Denver won't deal to Houston..." okay. Because they have the assets to help a rebuilding team?

What are they going to do? Trade their future draft picks (that we have) and also why would you want draft picks when the team you are getting them from is going to be a good team? Morey can call in and say "Look, I have their draft picks, you keep them from getting better and you get their draft picks."

    Morey has a trade exception.

Morey has Brooks, Chase, and Hill. Also if Nuggets wanted Kevin Martin i'm sure Morey would let them have him.

I'm not getting my hopes up because I haven't heard anything from Carmelo's mouth, but we are in a strong position if he wants to be here.

LOL at New York fans always thinking everyone wants to play in their city. That only works if you have a good team.

How are we concluding that we are on his short list? Per the interview recap, it seems like these are the only teams Mannix currently knows about. Didn't he say "there are other teams"? If so, we don't know how short this list is.

3 teams he would do an extension for. Thus a very short list. Houstons one of them.
