According to that report yeah Houston is on the list. But it's entirely possible that it's not a strong candidate for either Melo or Denver.

all things being equal why would Denver trade Melo to a Western Conference team if they could ship in East? they must want specific pieces or want a completely lopsided deal

and really there's no way to gauge Melo's preferences. maybe Denver gave Melo a list of teams that were acceptable to them and on the list the highest one that Melo could live with was Houston? Houston could actually be like 8th or 9th of acceptable markets for Melo but no one else even had pieces that Denver wanted?

we really have no idea just conjecture at this point other than we do know that Carmelo wants to go to New York very badly.

depends entirely on the leverage and mind tricks that Morey can employ on a Denver franchise which is like a chicken with its head cut off atm

I see Bloop. Your a New Yorker in two threads trying to push Carmello into New York. Well thats fine. If he wants to go there. I would be happy for him. Besides its not likely he comes here and it never was possible before so it wont exactly hurt us since we are already going into this season like nobody was coming here anyways. This is just a bonus for us. If it happens great. If not? We should really move anyways until Morey even states he wants him. Until then this is just talk back and forth and excitement.

Jermaine Taylor is a ballhog and ballhogging ways always go against Rick Adelman's motion offense system so I doubt if he'll get many meaningful minutes at all if he doesn't play a smarter game.

I'd rather have Chris Paul. Carmelo is ok, but I don't think he is the guy to deliver a championship. How about a 3-way where Melo goes to NO and Paul comes to Houston.

Yep. Which is why we should let this issue die down completely. Not get excited until something happens.

If Denver is clearly in rebuilding mode they will have no use for Billups, also this changes everything if Melo agrees to an extension with us.

We need to make a Melo' website, just replace the bosh pictures, and replace his name..

Chris Mannix was on WFAN New York just a few moments ago and this was talked about. One idea Mannix brought up was the fact Houston had a franchise center and that is something Carmelo feels is needed to win in the league. The other reasoning behind the Houston mentioning means to the league that he is not only limiting himself to east coast teams. I'm actually surprised that the New York radio hosts were realistic in the fact that they should not get their hopes up since the Knicks do not have assests to pull the best offer.

My understanding is that Murphy can be traded immediately but Lee can't be traded until two months after his acquisition.

The two month rule is only for teams over the cap. Technically those teams used an exception ( exception which allows salaries to be within 25%) and so the two month rule is applicable. Since NJ was under the cap they used cap space to complete their deal rather than an exception so the rule doesn't apply to them.

denver wouldn't want to trade him to a western team, and melo wants to join another superstar so he has a chance at a ring in the next 5 years while the superfriends are together.

i think the rockets are on denvers list of possible trade partners, and melo's list of possible destinations. however, they are probably low on both lists.

Sounds good, but Melo might be using us as leverage just like Bosh did

You know what sucks when we get hyped up but nothing ever happens for us. Like we were all hyped up on Bosh just to have our dreams shattered. Let's not get to serious people it might hurt less if it doesn't work out. BUT GET IT DONE MOREY!!!!

Well, the Astros traded Joe Morgan to the Reds.

Seriously though, if you decide to rebuild, you look for the best pieces figuring that you won't seriously compete for a few years... and let's fact it, without Carmelo, the Nuggets aren't serious contenders unless one of those NYK picks immediately pans out. So, why worry about where he goes?

Bosh, nor his agent ever said anything to indicate Houston was even an option.

Why does this bs keep getting reiterated again and again?

I'm not sure Bosh used us for leverage as much as he did entertainment (and an iPad). He was obviously set on going to Miami and most people knew it. What did one short meeting with Morey gain him in leverage?

Yeah i always why worrying about where a player goes makes sense if a team in your conference gives you the best possible offer out there. Its like hurting yourself intentionally just so a team wont look good in your own conference never made sense to me if you are crippled by moving that player to another conference for significantly less.
