the only trade that makes sense from Denver's perspective, and remains reasonably palatable from Houston's, is Battier+Jeffries (for salary) and Budinger+Hill (for talent). throw in the right picks to sweeten the deal. ideally, i'd like Battier bought out and brought back, but i could probably live w/ it as is, and use some combo of Lee+Taylor to back up Melo.

Trust me that I understand you, but my english is based on clichés, I try my best but that's all I have. I think Martin plus Brooks plus Melo it's an impossible trio, they are not compatible, they are 3 pure SCORERS next to a Yao Ming, and I have Yao, I want him to be used. Also, an scorer needs to feel important to mantain a high grade of confidence (this is why I think Martin is in the long run a worst player next to Brooks, specially at the end of the games), and finally, Melo is not known for his defense, as well as Martin and Brooks.

... And this is a team with a very good offensive level currently; very improveable defensive potential (thinking on a contender). A superb scorer like Melo could be great for the toughest playoffs series (plus he's used to kill the Lakers) but means at the same time that you need to compensate his lack of defense at the other positions. You won't win anything with Brooks+Martin+Melo on the starting lineup. Roles.

That is exactly the trade I proposed, and it would be great if we could keep CBud as the backup, but I think they would probably want him as a future asset and replacement as they rebuild.

Melo would be our alpha dog.

Melo, Yao, Martin, and Lowry would live at the line.

I really don't......and I am retired now, I sold a few companies and now just consult......lots of free time....LOTS !!!!

Sorry you think I feel superior, that is actually not at all how I think...I believe in my opinions, but I know they are just my own views.

But since you "hate" me....I suggest you use the ignore.....

Good to hear, but I'll have to believe it when I see it. (Nobody wants Bosh roller coaster pt. 2) Although, I agree Morey should (and probably is as we speak) all over this.

I think at least Martin, Bud and draft picks would go (from a basketball need standpoint I think).

I'm not a cap guy so I couldn't say what scenario could workout financially to the benefit of Denver (maybe some of those guys could chime in if I didn't skip their posts in this long thread).

Do you really think the Nuggets would be excited about getting Budinger and picks for Melo? Bud has only proven he's a good role player at this point. Melo is a near elite star.

It was a bunch of times, DD. Sorry that you can't recall that. I'm not saying he isn't a clutch player, I am saying that AT THE END OF GAMES when you need a final shot, he either gets fouled (no call at the end) or has to take a bad off balance shot. It has NOTHING to do with him being clutch and more about his size and the fact that refs don't call fouls at the end. It has nothing to do with him being a non-clutch player. It has to do with needing someone else who can make that shot or get the foul call. Fact

back to the awesomeness of possibly getting a shot at Melo

Did anybody bother to look up Melo's advanced stats on basketball-reference.com?

I seriously cannot believe what I see. Anthony's advanced stats are shockingly mediocre. If Morey is truly a stats geek GM, I won't be surprised to see him pass up Melo.

Will someone wake Morey up please...? This thought of getting Melo is too much.

We have the most assets than any team. Melo is PERFECT FIT, the exact piece we need!!

Yao has been all but a failure as a closer. Brooks is good, but he's not half the go-to game finisher Carmelo can be, especially when you consider his ability to get to the line.

9 FTA per game. Take a look at what company Carmelo keeps with that stat.
