Has nothing to do with you not agreeing for most of these people.

Your points are just points you pull out of god knows where. Then you overrate every Rockets player.

This Rockets team is VERY VERY GOOD, but fact is we need a closer, Melo is a CLOSER. No one else on the Rockets is, not Brooks, not Martin, not Yao.

You stick to your point also and ignore any kind of criticism to you, scared to be convince away from your r****ded points. Then you just decide to make really stupid comments even though everyone knows you have read every single comment on every single thread, so you know what people are saying.

Wake me when it happens. Until then, its just bs leaked by probably the rockets camp to keep fans interested. Not only that, he's from baltimore and his wife is from nyc. If the nets with their cap room and new owner are willing to take nene's contract and give up favors and williams, he's going there. Just my guess, but houston doesnt have a player with the upside of favors and williams. Nor do they have the proximity angle of the nets.

    Who has more value:

    A) A 26-year old top scoring SF in Carmelo Anthony?
    B) A broken amazing center, who will not play full minutes next season in Yao Ming?

I think the choice is pretty clear. If Anthony agree's to an extension, EVERYONE can be traded, including Yao Ming.

Yao Ming can not be traded. Otherwise this is a lateral move.

Morey wouldn't give up a quarter of our rosters. Instead, he would give up a half of our rosters.

First you say I am pulling points out of nowhere, then you pull one out by saying we don't have a closer...yes we do, we have Aaron Brooks, and Yao Ming.....

I guess those are just each others opinion.....

Whatever, I listen to folks and if they make a good point, I acknowledge it.....I think everyone views things differently.

And I would take Melo, just not trade the farm for him.....

Having any congnitive discussion on whether Melo is a great player or not when everyone is running around like Chicken little going...>OOOOOH....Melo might want to come to Houston......is just not going to happen.

    LOL.

If the Rockets have a legit shot to get a superstar in his prime, which Carmelo definitely is, and don't take it, that failure will define Morey's career. Because Carmelo Anthony is ten times the player that Chris Bosh is and there will never be a better opportunity staring us in the face.

I'd trade virtually any combination to get the deal done. We have plenty of good role players, and Morey has shown that he can keep drafting and trading for those. Legit superstars are few and far between.

Anyone who REALLY believes that we'd be worse off getting him is fooling themselves with platitudes of team-centered play and visions of the 2004 Pistons. Every other team since 1980 to win the title has had a Hall-of-Fame caliber go to guy.

I just hope we can trade for him before the trade deadline so our team can gel...

Damn good post. Honestly, who do you people have in mind that can be better? LeBron? Wade? Too bad they're on the same team now and aren't going to leave! Carmelo is ALMOST at there level...

I'm cool with you not loving Melo or wanting to give up too much for him (though I disagree), but this caught my eye

AB is great at getting his own shot, but we ran that worthless AB iso at the top of the key play every time we needed a game winning/tying shot this season (because it was all we had) and he probably made the shot 1 out of 5 times.

I would give Martin, 6 million trade exception, Battier, 2011 and 2012 knicks first round picks. That nets Anthony.

    Brooks Lowry
    Budinger Taylor
    Anthony Jefferies
    Scola Hill/patterson/Hayes
    Yao Miller

Thats a pretty nice lineup. Second unit is kind of weak, but one of the league's best starting units. I say pull the trigger Morey.

I agree everyone has their own opinion, but you REALLY feel comfortable late in the game with the ball in Yao's or Brook's hands? I feel it's a 50/50 proposition when they take it.

Obviously I'd LOVE Kobe Bryant I feel 95% certain when he touches it late in the game it is going in, but for most other Superstars like the Melo, Lebrons, Wades of the World: 80%+ comfort when they take game winners/close late game.

Brooks late in game chokes on FTs (it is almost certain he goes 1 for 2 when it's late in the game). And those Layups are so awful, he never gets calls even though he gets hacked, and that is part of the reason I don't trust him late in the game and as much as I dislike superstar calls they are a part of the game, and Brooks doesn't get them.

Yao turns it over a lot of time late in the game and can't create his own shot. It is hard to be a closer when you have to get the ball in to you. Closers should have some sort of ability to create their own shot.

Probably? I can recall two shots off the top of my head, the Boston game away and the Mavricks game at home.....

I think the "Not a closer" or "not a clutch player" was disproved in a thread about that already.

I believe Brooks was pretty much proven to be a closer late in the year....

Anyway.....back to the everything for Melo channel.

    ;)
