I would welcome the talent, but the ego and drama is pretty significant. Could tear the locker room's chemistry apart..

I think it's strange nobody think this is doable. Philly gave up a lot of picks for Butler and Harris. If either of those guys are going to leave I'm sure they'd sure like to get some picks back. We already know the Rockets have previously offered 4 first round picks for Butler. In this situation, where the Sixers would lose him for nothing alternatively, they would have a lot less leverage. But similar to CP3 they could still get some great assets. My guess is we'd have to send them a package of Gordon, Nene and Tucker and throw in a pick or two. Gordon and Nene are expirings and could either be flipped or bought out. Tucker would have one year left but could help there.

My only question is if we gave up two strong contributors in PJ and Gordon how do we replenish our roster? I suppose we have bird rights on Shumpert? My guess is the MLE we have will have to go to Faried if we want to keep him. Hopefully we will manage to lock up House on a 3 year deal before the year is up. If so I guess we'd have

    CP3
    Harden
    Butler
    Faried
    Capela

    Shumpert
    House
    Clark

I love the starting lineup but the bench is terrible. You guys think MCW will be available?

That will be 3 teams in the last four years for butler.

Morey can do it if no one else has heart!

Yeah if this could be done before he resigns for Gordon + Nene + a pick that would be amazing. Is that possible? Because CP3 had to be re-signed first, right?

I don't see how we match Butler's new salary without throwing in Tucker if so.

Opt-in and trade is the only way, but Butler can be “fairly confident” the Rockets won’t renege on the wink-wink deal after giving old CP3 $160 million.

The bench would be non-existent with Gordon, Faried, and Nene gone. Basically a bunch of replacement level (or worse) guys in Shumpert, Green, House, Clark and Hartenstein, though I suppose Morey could just use the tax MLE on Faried.

Both the Wolves and the 6ers are younger teams with
The difference between Butler at his opt in number and Gordon and Nene is only $1MM. Getting Jimmy will make no real difference in our depth next year.

Unlikely. Jordan would have to sign for the tax payer MLE or less, only way we could get him.

Have a feeling Clint would be Asik 2.0. Imo wasn’t nearly as good as before he left. Obvious reason but not worth it.

I feel other franchises view Capela as a by product of the Rockets system, Chris Paul and especially James Harden.

Morey is going to find a way to sign Faried. It will be a bidding war.

House is likely gone bc he wants money. Morey is going to find a way to sign Faried. It will be a bidding war.

Can’t use more than 2 vet mins bc it’s tax. Sign undrafted players. Start from next year, buyout is not reliable.

Since the Sixers traded for Harris, Butler has averaged about 13 shots a game. Eric Gordon, on the other hand, is averaging 14.5 attempts per game for the season.

Instead of pursuing Jimmy Butler, Morey would do better for the Rockets if he could extend Rivers and Faried and of course sign Danuel House.

I don't know but it seems to me Faried makes Tucker obsolete.I would rather let Shumpert walk and pursue Danuel House instead.

Maybe House will be included with Gordon in this deal.

Highly doubt it. Everywhere Jimmy goes there isn’t a player than can check him. In Houston you have Green and Tucker that can keep him inline, not to mention you have 2 HOF proven guys in Harden and CP whom Butler is extremely close with. Of course there will be some arguments and differences but that’s just bc you have 3 very competitive guys on the same team.

F*** man... I got hope again. I also didn't know JB is from Tomball. Will be mashing F5 to death this offseason. Screw you @cyberx and all posters who got me thinking about some possible scenarios. This doesn't bode well for my health.

Also, this mean I'll be hoping for a Sixers playoffs meltdown, preferably on the first round.
