Don't forget O-line (Brooks and Jones are FAs), ILB (replace or at least backup Cushing), and NT (replace or at least backup Wilfork)

RG3 has all the physical tools of an elite QB. If he was at the combine right now he'd grade out 1st. Mentally I have no clue where he's at. If he's cut or alters his contract and you get him for nothing you do it. See what O'Brien can do with him, if anything. I'm not worried about him being a distraction, any decent coach can overcome that. If he sucks so be it. Most QB's suck.

In the NFL, there have been far more successful QB's with sound mentality but questionable physical tools... vs. the other way around.

Its the one position where physical tools likely take a back-seat to the mental side of things (provided your physical tools are not completely terrible).

Griffin is going to the Cowboys. The Jerrah boner is too mighty.

Romo's contract means he'll be a Cowboy for at least 2 more seasons.

    The Texans will sign Peyton.

Sorry, all of my posts were predicated on Washington cutting Griffin. The Texans would be stupid to take on his existing contract. I'd be in favor of the team taking a flyer on Kaepernick once he is cut, too.

What other QB is going to be "higher" though? A noodle-armed, 40-year-old Peyton Manning? A rookie QB in a weak draft? Another year of Brian Hoyer?

I'd rather the team at least make a move for somebody that has some upside. Of course I don't want them to continue wasting the prime years of DeAndre Hopkins and JJ Watt. But, what about the Texans' 13 years of existence have shown you that they're willing to aim for anything other than mediocre?

    Here is a trio

1994 Oilers - Cody Carlson, Billy Joe Tolliver, Bucky Richardson (not sure if there was a 4th that year)

I'd forgotten about Billy Joe. Baylor, Tech and Aggie, they should have signed Pete Gardere too, mix a Horn into that bucket of suck.

If he's cut, you sign him. You still draft a QB, but you sign him. Who knows what will be left of Hoyer after the season.

I think Griffin has tools O'Brien could work with. He'd immediately be the most physically talented quarterback I'm franchise history.

I'd take Sam Bradford too if we're just talking about a stop-gap for for the rookie.

I'd probably take Bradford over RG3 if both are free agents. Bradford has a lower ceiling, but a much higher floor.

It'll be an interesting year to see who is available.

    RG3 to Philly
    Lynch to Cleveland
    Kaepernick to St Louis
    Goff to San Fran
    Bradford to Houston
    Brees stays in NO
    Peyton retires

Go harder to get RG3. Cowboys still has Romo, I do not think RG3 wants to go to there.

I think at this point, RG3 just wants to have a job....he's not exactly in a position to be THAT picky about where he goes. As of right now, he's nothing more than a draft bust and he's looking to turn that around. He's probably got one more chance before he's entirely out of the league. He's pretty much where Matt Leinart was when he went to Houston.
