Only 13% of CF says he should be fired at this point. Don't act as though this board is not full of Morey supporters...
Think of this, you are Les, it is your team and you have a guy you hired getting tons of headlines, and getting into twitter fights - you can handle all of that as long as you are winning, but the minute your team struggles, maybe you take a look at that guy and his popularity and decide to go another direction. Never underestimate the pettiness of ownership. Just a guess. DD
Terrible news, if it is true. Les has no loyalty Morey put us in the WCF without being bad He trade for Harden, a top 10 player in the league. Les will make so much money with him Lin was les decition insteed keeping Dragic We never will be the Spurs
Morey is slightly overrated IMO, he's not bad but he's not that great either. His record in Houston has been at best hit-or-miss. Re-signing Corey Brewer, loading our roster with low IQ big men who can't shoot free throws, inability of acquire one decent 2-way player, lack of respect for coaching, constantly chasing after big name stars instead of holding on to solid roles player that we have, etc. I just don't see Morey beating the Spurs or the Warriors with this kind of management skill. He has his talents, but constructing a roster that could work as a coherent unit is not one of them. It too much feels like crapshoot at times, and the turnover rate is way too high for any kind of camaraderie spirit to take place among players. That's why we constantly hear from outsiders that we don't have a culture or set identity. I'm not asking for Morey to leave, but I won't regret it either once that decision gets made.
We wanted McGrady he got us Mcgrady. We wanted Artest he stole Artest. Dude stole Scola. Morey found Lowry from the bottom of the barrel. Traded Mcgrady when he broke... Got a first round pick Got Kevin Martin which netted James Harden.. We needed a point guard he got us Lawson... Not his fualt lawson crapped out.. This guy delivers
Rockets have just about hit rock bottom, only thing left is for Harden to leave for LA in free agency. Probably a good time for Morey to leave from his perspective to tell you the truth, writing is on the wall.
I think so also. It is hard to build a team like Les wants with out being able to tank enough to nget a few good draft picks.
I agree with the sediment that if Morey is gone, he is leaving on his own terms. Morey might not be the very best in the league, but he is better than the average. I primarily blame the issues on the prima donna attitude in the NBA. Its more difficult than ever to consistently build a team like the Spurs when most of the stars are prima donnas. Secondly I believe Les is much much more concerned about the balance sheet at the end of the year than wins or losses.
Morey was ahead of the game with analytics. But now the whole league is using it and his advantage has dissipated.
