If Les Alexander were getting rid of Morey, I think Morey would have been fired before the head coach search, and not after.
Which Rockets role players can go off the war JR and Frye have the last two games? Don't worry, ill wait
If nothing else, this season has been an incredible litmus test/divining rod on who the ****ing idiots are on this site.
One of the best? how? How many championships did he bring to this team in 10 years? or did he even bring this team to final once in 10 years? You Morey fans have an unique standard on him.
They were very clearly pointing to chemistry, not to actual people. The lineup *was* the same. You're arguing that we had high turnover from our WCF team and the one that played so poorly this year. That is factually untrue and you misinterpreted the statements from the players. I can assure you they weren't talking about Pablo Prigioni or even Josh Smith. Every single year Morey changes the team in significant ways and people here freak out about it. The ONE year he doesn't we have a disappointing season and you accuse him of high turnover. I like you personally DD but you are literally the most frustrating person in the world with whom to discuss basketball. You post 15 times a day to say the same (wrong) things over and over. I don't mean this in a cold way; I mean it in a warm one. Do you have a disorder of some kind?
So, how many teams have won a title in the last 10 years? And, how many teams of those which have won have lost their franchise player in the process? And, how many of those teams have build that without at least a single losing season to tank? You Morey haters sure have an unique standard on him
Interesting observation. Does that mean players coming here will get worse than before they joined this team?
How many franchises have different windows using totally different teams, cores, and star players in a 10 year period?
I did not say we had high turnover this year was just pointing out that we were not the same team. Kostas contributed a lot more than people think he brought in playmaking from that SF position as an example. Pablo Prigioni was a nice option at PG too - that is TWO playmakers gone from last year - not the same team. I may or may not be wrong - I just see things far earlier than most people - and have a different viewpoint as to what will make this better. And no, I have no disorder - lol - just enjoy the debate....let me give you some feedback too - you will go into a thread where 10 people are saying the same thing I am, yet, you quote me, every single time - you are fixated on me - don't know why, maybe you have some disorder? DD
three are quite a few, you should be able to count. I guess. That is the thing every GM needs to work on. right? tank or not, the goal is to build an elite team, How is your best GM Morey did so far on this field? LMAO. Isn't championship the goal of every GM? Or maybe you can claim this is the elite team after Morey tried to build up for 10 years?
How many franchises with one of the best GMs has no clue where they are after building their team for 10 years?
After allllllll of the talk the players have done about chemistry not being the same -- you think "not the same team" was lamenting the loss of Kostas Papanikolaou? Lolz.
It's not as over-simplified as counting championships. Championships in the NBA are more rare than about any other American sports league; they require patience, luck, and star power. I'm not happy at all that we haven't won a championship. This season was a disaster on all levels. But we have to measure a GM relative to his peers and the fact that if we let him go, there are not any obvious upgrades available. It's unwise to potentially downgrade long term based off the emotions of a bad season, especially when we have yet to see our new coach, or what that coach's impact will be. There are 30 teams, and we've been in a better situation than about 25 of them, at least, for the last several years. This team still has some talent and decent assets, and space to play in the free agent market. In 5 years Morey turned the nuclear fallout of Yao-Tmac into two new superstars and a Western Conference Finals run, and another loss to nobody but the eventual champs. This is why most people are advocating one more year of Morey - to give him a chance to right the course of this ship. If not, then we're going to see a mass revolt, and I'll be part of it.
I agree with this. This was my fear when Parsons left, his playmaking ability is sorely missed on this team. And I was ok with him gone and Ariza as a replacement because I love his defense, BUT Morey NEVER got another playmaker on the team. Parsons was the perfect fit for Harden because he didn't demand the ball AND made plays for the team. This is why a guys like J Smith works (sometimes), because he can play off the ball and playmake, whereas a guy like Ty Lawson needs the ball in his hands and that just will NOT work as long as Harden is the core of the team.
- yeah, but i'm asking you since it seems that every franchise has won except the Rockets - LOL - he actually did that in 2008/09, and two years ago he went pretty close with Bosh - It isn't, so? Every gm whcih doesn't build a championship team should be fired? Dude plz...
This speculation is the reason we have messed up repeatedly on key rotational players. Its the perceived sense of "we came so close!!!" The dude waited outside of Bosh's place with an IPAD...he commands no respect and even worse, he is completely delusional about what it takes to recruit a player. Dwight had the perfect storm in LA, for some reason they sided with Kobe and made little effort to resign him. Its not happening again.
