It is not true. First off, Morey and JVG are good friends and meet up often for lunch. One thing about JVG, like him or not, is that he is loyal to a fault with his friends and is not the type of guy who would demand for a friend to lose a job for his own personal benefit. Just another total garbage rumor.
You mean... All future SUPERSTARS!!!!!! Lololol, some might be considered worse than scrubs I mean sure they're better than just about everyone else in the world 0.00001% or whatever but they're not quite in that percent of a percent of a percent etc etc . (And no, I didn't take the time to get the exact percent, lol, but I expect most of these guys to be out of the NBA soon). I mean I guess some could be successful on the pine...
Cavs - LeBron (GM David Griffin) Clippers - Rivers (GM Dave Wohl) Hawks - Budenholzer (GM Wes Wilcox) Pistons - Van Gundy (GM Jeff Bower) Spurs - Popovich (GM R.C. Buford) TWolves - Thibodeau (GM Scott Layden) Only one bad team in there (and they're on the way up). GM Doc hasn't done a good job. TBD on GM SVG, GM TT, GM MB.
Lol... It's amazing despite several articles detailing how Morey runs everything by the owner who ultimately makes the decision based on the information given that these narratives still exists.... You humans are amusing.
Clippers and Hawks maybe looking at a retooling process. There's no silver bullet to building a successful team, you need luck and good preparation.
Why? We have had 3 distinct eras under Morey spanning 9 seasons and you can't keep every player. Not to mention, you can't keep them all and expect to upgrade the roster. It seems the theme is we can identify good role players.
Morey has never had complete control of basketball operations Rocketlings. Morey has to run every major decision through Les.
Should be noted that Danny Ferry was a top GM at Atlanta who hired Budenholzer because Ferry had a relationship with him at SAS. There was never a plan for Bud to be promoted to Pres of BBall Operations until Atlanta was forced to fire Ferry for his racial comments. Likewise, Thibs always liked Layden from the Knicks years when he was the GM/boss to JVG. I do not expect Layden to be some gofer/puppet for Thibs. Fully expect Layden to be a GM like Buford very much an active negotiator and leader of the scouting team, whereby Thibs and Pop don't really try to do their job and will give them a lot of power. They just want to reserve the right to veto anything, set goals/expectations for scouting, drafts, FAancy, and not be able to get fired by a GM. Rivers I'm not so sure about. He might actually be a meddler and control freak.
Cut it out guy, your logic isn't appreciated. If you actually apply critical thinking, pretty much nothing, (and I mean literally nothing), these people say makes any sense. Don't waste a single brain cell defending anything against them, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Morey is one of the best GMs. It's quite telling that many of those calling for his dismissal are barely able to articulate themselves. Batman Jones is right: We all didn't see this coming. I trust Morey to get us back on track.
Morey needs to be fired. You have two really close to elite coaches on the open market in (Joerger and Vogel) The former, who is innovative on offense AND defense, and utilizes analytics on the open market, and you're sitting on your ass and interviewing bums? This organization is a disgrace. From Les Alexander to Daryl Moron
The irony is the players said at the beginning of the year that it wasn't the same team. Yet, here, I point that out and people come running - to disagree, with what the PLAYERS themselves said about the locker room. Chemistry is a weird thing - you may think that flipping for a better talent makes the team better, but sometimes getting rid of a player like Dantley for instance, makes the entire team better. Morey is hit or miss, there is nothing that says he is elite, nor poor, he is about average - how much of it is him vs Le$ is a legitimate beef, but he took the job, he has promoted himself (Smartly I might add) and if he is fired as all GMs are - he will be fine. Popovich! DD
