This will be a disastrous move if true, that could set this franchise back 5-10 yrs. Morey deserves more leeway to improve the team in the offseason. I get that Clutch stated he hasn't heard anything but Codman said there are talks, and why would OP ask to be banned if he was trolling and have multiple posters vouching for him... I just hope Les makes the smart decision and not an impulsive one.
It wouldn't have to be full control. Gersson Rosas could be in line for promotion. Per Woj (about candidates for Nets' GM position):
I'm not buying into the "Source of a Source" prophecy! Moory has many short-comings BUT we definitely could do a LOT worse! Careful what you wish for Mr. Alexander because you just might get it! ....... ....... .......

JVG and Rockets mutual interest is real. I think everyone can attest to that. JVG will not come unless it's a situation like his brother has in Detroit, or what Thibs got in Minnesota. Rockets are well aware of this requirement, and want him. Morey may be retained if JVG comes, but he'd report to JVG. I am not an insider. I don't know anyone in the Rockets organization. I live in San Francisco and am well connected in the sports travel industry with the NBA, NFL, MLB, etc. JVG has been here in San Francisco many times in the past month for broadcasting duties.
I like his dorky persona and also think it might be time to move on from this. See him moving on is like seeing a relative moving out of town, a tear will fall but we know why we have to move on. I might have given him a season to redeem himself but I felt the end is near and Les might consider selling the team while we are at it. Nothing is set in stone so no worries
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I believe OP. Think about it. We have had a "Morey is on the hot seat" thread going for a while. So we've known for months that it was a huge possibility. Then before the playoffs were even over, we hear that both Morey and Bickerstaff were going to be evaluated. It all adds up sorta.
Hmmmm, not saying you're lying but if you're not hearing this from the Rockets organization, then where are these rumors coming from?? JVG doesn't seem like the guy to want this type of control/power ans ask to get someone fired from the organization that they have been with for 10 yrs.
Hey CHI, I believe that you are well connected in the sports industry Just wanted to comment on the JVG issue I doubt that JVG would be in line with a total rebuild (that is what this team needs IMHO) It is either going to work (still WC Finals as ceiling) or it does not
Has it been reported that JVG has interviewed with the Rockets? Or with any team for that matter? I find that strange if not. To me it means that he either has no interest in coaching, or something very under the radar is going on.
I can see Morey being unwilling to relinquish some of his influence. He's arrogant in public, imagine what he's like behind the scenes.
Well, this is pretty different from your first post here though... And anyway, isn't JVG in good relationship with Morey and not with Les? If that's true, why are JVG and Les basically getting Morey fired to work together?
I love it. Morey should not be made to feel bullet proof. Not after his system continues to fall short and sometimes embarrassingly. If players are just assets and GMs are just bean organizers, and coaches are just big green button pushers for the bean organizer's system, then go get Hinkie. Have Hinkie report to an elite coach in an organization that now has an elite coach running the game, and Hinkie can organize beans per the coach. No more tail wagging the dog. 10 long slightly above mediocre years. Robots can't fly planes. Coach-absent franchises can't win championships. This is a business of relationships. I wonder how the coach talks are going with Morey trying to sell coaches that his system trumps everything they've developed themselves to be as sought-after coaches.
...unless you're saying that Morey is leaving himself cause he's not ok in giving up power. And another thing, if you heard rumors in SF, how is possible that they're not out already?
