    No HDTV programming.

Digital cable is really analog cable with an unecessary cable box. (it uses composite cable out, not even s-video!)

    and most importantly, NO HDTV!!!!!

Where you live, do you get a choice or can you switch between them if you don't like one or another? That's not REALLY a choice if you can't do these things. I remember I had TVMAX in the apartments where I was, and yes, it sucked that I had to call them to reconnect my premium channels every now and then... their phone support is good... but their equipment and remote programming sucks deer nuts... :(

Haven't seen this mentioned yet but with MNF going to ESPN, the game start times are going to be moved from 9:10 to 8:40. Great for us East Coasters.

The NFL on NBC Sunday night games start times will go from 8:40 to 8:15. I believe NBC will also have a pre-game show starting at 7pm

    All times listed above Eastern.

NBC and ESPN havent commented on the announcers, but you have to believe ESPN will go with Michaels and Madden. I cant imagine them using their current cast of baffoons for the big monday night game.

I'm pretty sure NBC can get Costas to at least host their pre-game show. He still has a contract w/ them, although now its limited to just the Olympics and some golf... b/c NBC has nothing else.

The NFL is big-time, and Costas won't pass up an opportunity to be in the limelight that's been occupied by Gumble, Nantz, Michaels, and all his other "contemporaries" whom he once ruled over.

I don't think it will conflict w/ his HBO inside the NFL duties either, especially since Marino and Collinsworth are both on the show having worked for other networks.

From the Chronicle Sports today, Houston's cable penetration is around 74% while nationwide it's around 85%. Don't know why that the case, but it is.

Also mentioned in the article is the possibility of the Super Bowl going to ESPN within the next ten years. Lots of things would have to happen for come true, but who would thought during the Magic-Bird days that the All-Star game and the conference finals would be only on TNT.

On the same topic, around 120 of the Astros games will be on FSN-Houston this year......if you don't have cable anymore, you are now missing a ton of Houston pro games.
