I just cant see the Maloofs dealing with LA. Why would they even want Odom? Why would they ship him to a division rival for peanuts? Why would they let them make another deal for a Superstar player for peanuts? I think everyone knew LA would make the attempts, but I cant see a Odom for Artest trade. The Kings dont want him, and could probably get a better deal.
Isn't Lamar Odom expiring? Why would Sactown trade the better player who is expiring to for an expiring contract? It makes no sense. Kenny Thomas' contract is MLE level that expires in two seasons. Not worth dumping Artest for Odom.
A volatile Artest + punk Bynum = <object width="380" height="300"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/q9e_w_CYrrk&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/q9e_w_CYrrk&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="380" height="300"></embed></object>
Woah.. Coincidentally, the only player I think can actually control Artest is Kobe. The greatest player in the game taming the biggest loose cannon... seem familiar? It's gonna be a Jordan - Rodman redux...
The analogies between Kobe/Michael taming Artest/Rodman are even more ludicrous than the debate questioning whether Kobe would surpass Jordan. Kobe is not a people person. If Artest is tamed, it will be due to Phil Jackson.
Lamar Odom for Artest would be a silly trade on the Kings part. And I personally dont want Artest to come here. Chemistry > Douchebagary. Artest is a punk.
And the comparison of Artest to Rodman is as absurd as that of Kobe to Jordan. Rodman was smart. Artest is crazy. Rodman is weird and flamboyant for attention's sake. Artest is out of control because he cannot control his own emotions.
