The question should be why do the Rockets want Rubio? They tried to throw McGrady then Brooks+Battier in addition to taking on garbage contracts for him.

You just lost all credibility when you put Jason Williams in there

Exactly what i was thinking, a franchise Possible player to replace our current franchise player when the time comes.....quick note Yao and Rubio are 10 yrs apart, while Magic and Kareem were 12 yrs apart noticing any similarities...... ;)

I know Rubio to anywhere is just speculation, but if he were to be traded to Houston it would set the rockets up for the Next 12 yrs....... In a dream scenario we get Rubio, trade Battier for Outlaw & Webster and get our hands on the knicks pick in 2010 from the Jazz which could land us Darrick Favors (if the knicks are bad enough) not to mention our own pick which then we could use to target Cole Alrich or Greg Monroe for a back up to Yao
Line up 2010-11(Pretty young talented starting lineup)
    Rubio 18
    Webster 23
    Ariza 24
    Favors 18
    Yao 28

Ugh....Love speculation, in long off season :D

You either think Jason Williams is elite (and hence doesn't belong in that list) or his point completely went over your head.

The full printed rumor was Brooks & Battier couldn't net the 2nd pick because Memphis didn't want to include Gay. So....

There were several articles. I think the addition of garbage contracts was mentioned in one of the blogs of the Chron writers.

I know Alex and he's probably one of the smartest guys I ever met. Granted he is young and does make his fair share of mistakes.

    Thank you Bill Simmons.

Ok which 2 is it? I assume cap figure assets meaning they have to take back Mark Blount.

If He is indeed deemed to be the next big thing then why would Minnesota want or even consider getting rid of him?

    T-Wolves garbage contracts:

    Cardinal 6.25M exp
    Songaila 4.526M 2yr
    Atkins 3.48M (only 760k guaranteed)
    Wilkins 3.3M exp
    Blount 7.967,375M exp

    T-Mac + Brooks + Taylor + Dorsey + Cook = 28.732644M
    for Blount + Cardinal + Songaila + Atkins + Rubio (signed) = 25.447675M

Rockets get under LT after waiving Atkins.

    Flynn, Brooks, Brown
    Ellington, Taylor, Wilkins
    McGrady, Gomes, Brewer
    Love, Dorsey, Cook
    Jefferson, Pecherov

    Rubio, Lowry
    Ariza, Barry, White
    Battier, Budinger, Cardinal
    Scola, Landry, Songaila
    Andersen, Hayes, Blount, Yao

Poor Yao. First he had to deal with all those horrible Chinese point guards. Surely sitting through Rubio's growing phase (2-3yrs) will be just as painful for him.

He is used to playing with those guards that playing with Rubio would be heaven even through the growing phase.

The Knicks have closed off negotiations with all free agent point guards until next week but, the Knicks have been in talks with multiple free agent point guards, most notably Ramon Sessions.

That's interesting when you pair it with Bill Simmons comment on twitter regarding the same. He essentially said this report is "crap".

    This is just embarrassing...
$600k? That's all they can manage? More ammo for the trade is inevitable contingent.

Rubio would instantly become the best PG Yao has ever had, outside of all star games that is.

Not that instant. It would probably take him a year or two to adjust to the NBA.
