Its one thing to match mle for lowry and its another to match a frontloaded 9m contract. We're talking about 9m start with raises. So frontloaded, the contract will start at 12m and decrease. I hope they sign him before it comes to that, but I'm not sure.

LOL if you think this deal is so good for the Kings why will we do it in the first place?

Personally I wouldn't trade Scola for Cousins, but from their point of view a young center is more valuable to a rebuilding team than a scoring pg who's about to make major money and a 30 year old pf.

How about just Brooks for their #1 pick? Love to see Kyrie Irving a Rocket.

They can run the contract backwards and it will start at 12m. Even if they do a sign and trade, the most the rockets will get tpe of 6m and a 2nd rd pick probably. As we've seen, a 6m tpe is not worth alot in terms of high quality players.

This is the financially bereft Kings we're talking about. And this is ye olde CBA being referenced. The Commandant Commish wants to break out of these contracts to protect the owners from themselves.

AB will be paid, and he will receive more than KL7, but we need to wait'n'see what shape we'll find the New World Order will take.

So the Kings went through a few years of salary dumping and sucking in order to save all their money to blow a huge chunk of it on... a contract for friggin Aaron Brooks that is so unreasonably expensive that the Rockets won't match?

Do they really scrimp and save in order to overpay the undersized version of Jason Terry?

The kings havent salary dumped, they saw the end of one team and decided to rebuild. Even with the new cba, they will have alot of money and guys still on their rookie deals. Petrie has shown to be a very good judge of talent. I guess we will see.

If the Kings want to give AB 50 mill or more, then go right ahead.

It depends on how much they overspend. One reason Brooks works so well for us is we have Lowry to sub in if he starts chucking shots or is getting abused on D. The Kings won't have such luxury, their backup pg won't nearly be as good, and honestly paying more than the amount we're willing to match for Brooks isn't worth it. If the Kings out on a limb and pay him say 12M per...well at that amount they can keep brooks.
