DMo is just rehabbing his back injury. Once he is cleared for full contact , he will sign with the team. ( that's my theory)
They clearly want him but do not know how well he can play. They don't know his value so they did what all teams do with RFA's -- they made a qualifying offer to see what the league did in response. That's how a RFA's value is set. Nobody is willing to pay him more so the Rockets aren't willing to pay him more. I didn't say they think he can't contribute. If they felt that way they would have waived him. I said they don't know if he can contribute or to what degree he can contribute -- just like the other 29 teams in the league -- and are unwilling to go up on his word that he's feeling better. You didn't answer either of the direct questions I asked you. 1. If D-Mo doesn't think this is his last contract why does he want a multi-year when he's at an all-time low wrt value? 2. Literally the ONLY way D-Mo gets his value up is by signing a one-year with us and showing us what he can do because we do not know what he can do. Why doesn't he sign the one-year and get his value up if he believes he can contribute? Unless you're willing to answer those direct questions we're not having a conversation and I'm not going to keep saying the same things over and over while you do the same. I asked you two point blank questions. If you can't even give a guess at a reason for either, there's no point in discussing further. You're as dug in as B.J. is and he is harming D-Mo's value more than he is helping with it.
This is nada but foolishness. I look forward to DMo getting 'back' and working into the rotation. 'We' need the man.
I don't know what to think. The team could definitely use him if healthy .... doesn't hurt their cap situation as they have his bird rights , should be easy to move if they had to next year. Just doesn't make any sense other than him not being healthy ....
Keep talking like a know-it-all. You have hardly got anything right from your "insiders". You're pretty much the "what' of the Dish. Make multiple statements or predictions and then hope something hits. Stop wasting bandwidth bro.
So, 'holic is still saying a big payday for DMo via SnT is coming? Philly, Denver and Minny have >$10m in cap space right now. Why not just sign DMo outright and save their trade assets for another trade, i.e. Noel, Faried and Rubio. Uh, maybe because they don't think he's worth $10m As for the Kings, forget Cousins, any trade offer we make would be outbid by other teams. As for Gay, why hasn't any of those trades already happened? Why would the Rockets, DMo and the Kings wait for this big SnT that pays DMo $10m-plus, maybe it's because either we don't want a Gay trade, or they don't want DMo at $10m-plus.
DMo is on the verge of obscurity if he stays out much longer. Who is at biggest fault here? The Rockets clearly want DMo back but at a risk calculated value in a limited market.
What I have said is Ryan Anderson and DMo are duplicative on an MDA roster. I've also said the most likely resolution to the DMo situation is a sign-and-trade. Most likely does not mean absolute. It could be Anderson that is moved after Dec. 15th. And both Anderson and DMo could be gone in a little while if the right deals come up. As for DMo's contract I've said he's got his money. The exact amount I don't know. But I did know he wasn't signing the QO. And I do know he's not losing money right now by missing games. There's only one way that DMo signs a low dollar one-year contract. And that is if he's given the starting role and his agent is told that w are prepared to offer at least a minimum of x dollars in a contract offer next summer. And that might nut even be good enough. Answer this. Why hasn't DMo and his agent filed a grievance with the players association against the Pistons/Rockets/NBA? DMo knows he has to wait for the money he wants. The reason why Brooklyn etc. haven't signed him to an offer sheet is because they know that the offer sheet they'd sign would be matched by the Rockets. DMo also knows that. And then he would likely be shuffled away in trade next summer. Or maybe even waived after we had him sit the bench the remainder of the season only getting spot minutes behind Anderson and our centers. So they won't give him an offer sheet. But they have talked trade with him and Morey. The whole DMo thing has been controlled and orchestrated by Morey from before free agency began all the way through the faux recruitment by MDA up until today. We didn't want him signing an offer sheet early and forcing our hand and limiting our free agency options. Morey controlled that while separately negotiating sign-and-trade scenarios for DMo with other teams. Which is his job to do. Nothing wrong with that. But....it has brought us to today. There is much more money available to DMo if he waits this out.
Why hasn't DMo/agent filed a grievance? They won't win. How is there much more money if he waits out? That makes zero sense considering questions regarding his durability has kept him from getting a contract. Nothing you say adds up.
Brooklyn could over pay for DMo like a lot of teams do when they want someone. But they haven't done it....
Geez you are so full of it. None of this makes sense. So Dmo has not lost any money by sitting out? He has his money as well, WTF does this even mean?!? If he had his money he would sign somewhere. Why the hell worry what the Rockets are going to do if they match. At the end of the day he will have his money, since a long term deal is what he seems to more concerned with. I get that he wants a role as well, but that's obviously not as important as securing a long term deal. He obviously does not really want to go to Europe because they don't pay as well over here and his heart is probably wanting to play in the NBA. He needs to sign for the money offered to him and prove his worth. I don't understand what a grievance would do for him. The Rockets are not doing anything wrong. The Pistons ****ed him over so maybe he has a case there. At this point he should take the imaginary money you claim he has already and just play. Sitting out is not doing him any good. He has no leverage.
The reason i don't think D.Mo is too happy waiting for a team with cap space is cause those teams are basically all bad teams, i can see them eat some bad contracts as the season goes on, and this may limit D.Mo's market even further...unless he already has an agreement with someone obviously, but if that's the case i don't see why he's waiting to sign...
